Kelly Clarkson Welcomes Son Remington Alexander, Reveals ‘We Couldn’t Be Happier’

Kelly Clarkson’s son Remington Alexander has arrived, and the family “couldn’t be happier.”

“Our little baby boy has arrived!! Remington Alexander Blackstock was born 4/12/16 & he is healthy & we couldn’t be happier or more in love!”

The baby boy is the second child for Kelly and her husband, Brandon Blackstock. The couple are also parents to 2-year old River Rose. Along with his two children with Kelly, Brandon has two children, Savanah and Seth, from his previous marriage.

Kelly Clarkson revealed that she was expecting her son, Remington Alexander, last summer in a very unplanned and unexpected announcement. It was during her concert at the Los Angeles Staples center that Clarkson broke the news that she was going to be a mom again. Kelly was in the middle of singing her hit song “Piece By Piece” when she blurted out the news that she was pregnant again.

“This is not how I wanted to announce that I’m pregnant. My makeup artist is backstage hating me. I didn’t want you to think I’m on pills or something. I would like to apologize to my husband. This was not planned. I’m just so hormonal. Everything is great, I haven’t vomited yet. That’s a win y’all.”

Last fall, Clarkson took to Instagram to reveal that she was having a baby boy. She used an adorable picture of River to share the news that her daughter was getting a little brother.

While Kelly Clarkson is thrilled that her son Remington Alexander has joined the family, the American Idol alum has not been shy about the difficult time she has had during pregnancy. Kelly has been very vocal about how rough her first pregnancy with River was, and as it turns out, the second time around didn’t go any easier. Clarkson revealed in an interview with CBS This Morning that she had issues with getting dehydrated during pregnancy. She also shared that it has gotten so bad that the singer had to get IVs and fluids because her dehydration had gotten so bad.

Although her second pregnancy was rough, there were some very special moments for Clarkson. One very special moment included a performance on the show that launched her career. Kelly gave one of the most powerful performances of her life on the final season of American Idol a few weeks ago. While singing “Piece By Piece,” Clarkson got very emotional, to the point of not only bringing her to tears but anyone who watched it as well. The song has a special meaning to Kelly, as it is not only about what an amazing parent her husband is but her own father’s absence in her life.

Not long after her emotional American Idol performance, Clarkson revealed to Ellen DeGeneres that she had no idea it was going to go down like it did.

“I didn’t realize it was gonna be that bad. [Brandon] was there, my little girl was there, my little boy was turning circles in my stomach. It was nostalgic. It was the last time I was gonna be on Idol and it’s ending. I was screwed from the get-go.”

Kelly Clarkson welcomed son Remington Alexander earlier this week. The mother of two and her husband, Brandon Blackstock, have been married since 2013. Other than the fact that the little bundle of joy has arrived and everyone is doing fine, no other details released. However, given what a social media fan Clarkson is, perhaps she will give fans a glimpse of her baby boy soon, maybe an official photo Remington or one with him and his big sister.
