Video: Naked Fisherman Rescued Just As Sharks Close In

Watch the dramatic footage of a sea rescue in Australia as a fisherman is pulled from the ocean in the nick to time:

As The Inquisitr previously reported, a naked fisherman who was treading water for about 24 hours off the coast of Western Australia after his boat capsized was saved just as a massive hammerhead shark began circling him. The whole ordeal was filmed by an Australian news crew aboard a helicopter.

According to Australia’s Channel 7 reporter Grant Taylor, “He keeps waving at our chopper trying to get us to come down and help him but there’s actually nothing we can do from ours. I’m looking at him, he’s looking at us, he just keeps putting his hands together and praying but he doesn’t realise there’s a boat right behind him as we speak right now.”

The naked fisherman was fortunately pulled to safety by a rescue boat and, although injured, is expected to be okay. The hammerhead was apparently about a mere 60 feet away when the rescue occurred, and other sharks were fast approaching.

Another man was also found in the area, though he later died after being taken back to shore. Presently, a third individual is still missing. When the three men, who may be family members, failed to return from a fishing trip, authorities began their quest to track them down. Further details about this incident will likely be forthcoming.

Here is Fox News video about the incident along with additional footage from Channel 7 Australia:
