‘Dancing With The Stars’ Switch-Up Results Revealed: What Are The New Pairings For Week 5 In Season 22?

Next up on Dancing With the Stars is the partner switch-up theme and the new pairings have just been revealed. Just as all of the couples have gotten to the point of settling into a comfortable routine with their partners, things get shaken up for a bit and new challenges emerge. Which celebrities will be dancing with which professionals for Week 5?

Good Morning America got the official switch-up partner confirmations rolling when they surprised Ginger Zee with her new Dancing With the Stars pro for this next performance, Mark Ballas. The two seem very excited to work together and DWTS fans have a hunch that this pairing could lead to a fabulous performance as they tackle a salsa routine.

Fans have been loving Ginger and Val Chmerkovskiy together this season, but Dancing With the Stars viewers will surely be thrilled to see Val’s switch-up dance as he is paired with Fuller House star Jodie Sweetin to do the paso doble. Many DWTS fans had been clamoring for this partnership entering Season 22, as Val and his brother, Maks, had done a fun guest stint on Sweetin’s Netflix show during this debut Fuller House season.

Dancing With the Stars viewers will see Mark Ballas’ regular partner, Paige VanZant, dance the rumba with Sasha Farber and Farber’s usual DWTS partner Kim Fields will do the Viennese waltz with Keo Motsepe. Nyle DiMarco and Peta Murgatroyd have been wowing DWTS fans this spring, but now they face a week apart. Nyle will do the Viennese waltz with Sharna Burgess while her usual partner, Antonio Brown, will be tackling a cha cha with Karina Smirnoff.

What about Karina’s partner, Doug Flutie? Dancing With the Stars teasers detail that he will dance the tango with Peta Murgatroyd and DWTS fans get to watch Von Miller shift from Witney Carson to Lindsay Arnold, as he dances the jive. In return, Witney gets Lindsay’s usual partner Wanya Morris and they will dance a tango.

Which couples will flourish and which will falter heading into this switch-up twist on Dancing With the Stars? As viewers have seen at times in the past, this change can make for stressful moments for some celebrities. As PureDWTS notes, however, a lot of these pairings will probably bring some great and invigorating routines to the dance floor.

Most would anticipate that Sharna will be a great partner for Nyle and it will be interesting to see how Antonio responds to Karina, as she surely will not let him slide by with not working hard, a rumored issue during his DWTS rehearsals as of late. From the looks of things, nobody was put into a truly off or bad pairing, which has been the case sometimes in past Dancing With the Stars seasons.

Maks Chmerkovskiy is going to be a guest judge during Week 5 of Dancing With the Stars and the song choices reveal some enticing selections for the switch-up twist. In all likelihood, nobody will be eliminated during Monday’s DWTS show. Typically, the votes and scores during this switch-up performances get carried over and combined with another week, but viewers will have to stay tuned and see if that is the plan once again.

Which DWTS pairs will thrive at this new challenge and which ones will struggle? Which new couples do you think will put together show-stopping performances in Week 5? The switch-up challenge for Season 22 of Dancing With the Stars airs on Monday, April 18 and viewers cannot wait to see how these new partnerships fare.
