Kim Richards’ Sobriety Questioned During Finale, Will She Return For ‘RHOBH’ Season 7?

Kim Richards’ sobriety is pulled into question by her co-star, Lisa Rinna, on tonight’s finale episode of the sixth season of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills.

For years, Kim Richards has struggled with addiction, and while she was believed to have gotten sober at the end of 2015 following two arrests earlier in the year, Rinna may not be convinced that is the case.

According to an April 11 report by Perez Hilton, Kim Richards and Rinna will meet face to face for the first time in months on tonight’s new episode. During the show, Rinna will be seen questioning her co-star.

Although it is unclear why Rinna feels that Kim Richards hasn’t yet conquered her demons, claiming she hopes Kim Richards will get better, she remains concerned for her co-star’s health.

In April 2015, prior to the start of filming on The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills Season 6, Kim Richards was arrested at the Beverly Hills Hotel, where she reportedly became drunk and began to disturb her fellow patrons. Although Kim Richards was asked to leave the venue, she refused and the police were ultimately called. When all was said and done, Kim Richards was dealt a number of charges, including public intoxication, resisting an officer, and battery on an officer.

After her arrest, Kim Richards went to rehab at least twice, but in August of that year, Kim Richards was arrested for a second time and charged with theft after stealing an alleged $600 worth of items from a Target store in Van Nuys, California.

“I love sobriety,” Kim Richards explained to Entertainment Tonight last year. “I’ve always loved sobriety, and relapsing was very hard for me. It was not easy. I have to say, don’t take this wrong, but I really wanted to go to treatment because I needed a break from what I was going through at home.”

Before her April 2015 arrest, Kim Richards had been sober for years, but according to the reality star, a number of life issues piled up and led to her relapse.

“Monty, my ex-husband, is very sick and my son wasn’t well. And I had to give away my dog, and I wasn’t talking to my sister [Kyle Richards],” Kim Richards explained.

After deciding to seek treatment in rehab, Kim Richards said she was in a much different place.

“I went in and I got to learn a whole lot about myself,” Kim Richards revealed. “I dug deep into my past, things that happened to me as a child, good and bad, teenage years, relationships with all my loved ones, where they need to be mended, where they’re very powerful. I worked on me.”

“Actually, my arrest was my ‘a-ha I get to go away now and rest and take a break from all this’. I don’t want anybody to take this wrong, but I truly needed a break from hospitals, family, the pressure. I needed to go away,” Kim Richards added.

Sadly, after a long battle with cancer, Kim Richards’ ex-husband, Monty Brinson, passed away earlier this year. In the months leading up to his death, he and Kim Richards, who were married for just a few years in the 80s, were extremely close and even lived together for an extended period of time.

As for whether or not Kim Richards will be returning to The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills for Season 7, that has yet to be confirmed. However, due to her appearance at the season six finale, it certainly seems possible.
