Michelle Obama’s Longstanding Feud With Hillary Clinton Rumored In New Book

Michelle Obama and Hillary Clinton have been locked in a secret feud for quite a while. That is according to a new tell-all book that is set to be published in the coming months. The book claims Michelle Obama has a real problem with the former First Lady in large part because of the way she campaigned against Michelle’s husband and President of the United States, Barack Obama. The book, titled First Women: The Grace and Power of America’s Modern First Ladies and written by Kate Andersen Brower, claims the anger between Michelle Obama and Hillary goes all the way back to 2008, and if true would be an interesting development considering Clinton served as a part of Michelle’s husband’s administration during the period when the feud was supposed to be at its hottest.

According to Radar Online, at the heart of the fight is something Michelle Obama just can’t let go. During the 2008 campaign, Clinton mocked then Senator Obama’s message of hope and change in a way that left Michelle fuming.

“The sky will open, the light will come down, celestial choirs will be singing, and everyone will know that we should do the right thing, and the world would be perfect.”

Hillary said that during a campaign event. Now that the former First Lady and New York senator is running again, the book claims, at least some of her motivation is revenge for 2008. For their part, the Clinton camp has problems with Michelle Obama because they don’t believe she has the same kind of work ethic. Perhaps Obama understands that Hillary and her people have a disdain for her because the book also claims the feeling is mutual. The author claims one insider talked to her about the current first lady’s feelings

“When Michelle Obama views the Clintons, I don’t want to say she’s looking down her nose at them – but she kind of is.”

So just how far as this rivalry taken the two ladies? According to the New York Post, the First Lady went out and actively recruited Joe Biden to run for president, because she believed he could beat Hillary this time around. That may also have been why Biden was so close to announcing. The current vice president felt as though he had the backing of at least one of the Obamas. Perhaps if he felt he could have gotten his boss’ endorsement early in the process, he would have run after all.

Hillary Clinton is apparently not the only thing Mrs. Obama is unhappy with these days. The book claims she is certainly proud of what her husband did, and she’s more than ready to get out of Washington, D.C. The couple was making some real money when they got into the White House, and now that the President’s term in office is almost over, she’s more than ready to return to the world. Before she was the First Lady, Michelle Obama was making hundreds of thousands of dollars a year. Now that she has been the First Lady, she’ll be making that kind of money per speech. It’s a safe bet Mrs. Obama is also looking forward to not having every word she utters be diagnosed and dissected by people who hate her simply because of who she is. In that regard, she and Hillary Clinton have something in common. Of course, Clinton could have taken the opportunity to get away from that kind of attention and instead decided to run for President. Perhaps that’s the real reason Michelle Obama, and Hillary Clinton are at such impressive odds.
