Glenn Beck Says Americans Are Unknowingly Worshipping Ancient Pagan Gods, Idol Worship Destroying Country

Christian media icon Glenn Beck said Americans were unknowingly worshipping the ancient pagan gods Baal and Moloch, during an interview with evangelical preacher Samuel Rodriguez on his Blaze TV program Friday.

Beck was responding to reports that a 2,000-year-old arch from a Syrian Temple of Baal would be reconstructed in Times Square as part of World Heritage Week, according to Breitbart.

“If people would just look up Baal and Moloch from the Scriptures. We are worshiping them right now, we just don’t know it.”

Glenn Beck told Rodriguez, America is facing a moral crisis and the persecution of Christians by the liberal left was the same felt by early believers when they were confronted by ancient pagans, reports Breitbart.

“You used to have to sacrifice your children. It was promoted to have sexual intercourse, and if you got pregnant, you brought the baby to the altar and you killed the baby. I mean, it’s the same thing. It was worship [the] god of finance, god of war and god of the earth. I mean, we’re there!”

The Christian media icon didn’t appreciate early media reports about his accusation of America’s idol worship; he went on TV and condemned his critics saying they had no right to mock him for his beliefs.

Beck’s reaction may have been unwarranted, however, as initial reports on the construction of the Baal Temple Arch appear to be misleading.

The Institute for Digital Archaeology announced plans to recreate the Baal Temple Arch using 3D technology in December as part of World Heritage Week, but their plans changed earlier this year. Now, the IDA won’t be displaying anything in New York and will reconstruct and display a 2,000-year-old Syrian Triumphal Arch in London’s Trafalgar Square.

The triumphal arch was destroyed by rampaging ISIS forces in the summer of 2015, according to Right Wing Watch, but the IDA captured its likeness with 3D cameras.

“In a mountain workshop right next to where Michelangelo quarried a block of finest-quality white marble for his David, a new arch has been rising, and the week after next..it will touch down in Trafalgar Square.”

Beck is an outspoken supporter of Republican presidential candidate Ted Cruz, who he says was anointed by God to save America from the End of Times; he’s on record saying no true Christian would vote for Donald Trump.

The media icon was wrong about the construction of the Baal Temple arch in New York, but he’s not the only outspoken Christian commentator to worry America is being overrun with evil spirits that act contrary to God’s will.

Author Bill Cloud said Beck’s call for fasting and prayer in preparation for the Nevada caucuses illustrates his concern for America and a worry that the country can’t solve its problems without God’s help.

Cloud said America was under the evil influence of the spirit of Esau, the brother of the biblical character Jacob, who tried to kill his brother because of the hatefulness and deceit in his heart, reports WND.

“An alarming number of people on the right also believe that seeking God for guidance is bizarre and evidence of an unstable mind.”

Cloud and Beck both see the United States as being involved in a spiritual war, and the only way to make America great again is to follow God.
