‘Game Of Thrones’ Stars Take To The Red Carpet For Season 6 Premiere

There’s now less than two weeks until HBO’s hit fantasy drama Game of Thrones returns to our screens. Whilst fans continue to speculate over what twists and turns the show will take in its sixth season, the stars of Game of Thrones have taken to the red carpet for the show’s world premiere.

Excitement is huge around the upcoming season of Game of Thrones, and such is the gravitas of the show that it receives a film-like premiere to the mark the start of the new season.

The world premiere for the sixth season of Game of Thrones was screened at the Chinese Theatre in Hollywood, California, on the evening of April 10. There had been a good deal of speculation around where HBO would decide to host the premiere of this season of Game of Thrones, especially considering the show is filmed largely in the UK with a cast of largely British actors, despite, of course, being designed for American audiences.

Whilst the premiere was designed as a place for the show’s cast and crew to come together to watch the first episode of this season, according to Entertainment Weekly, a range of details around that first episode did spill out.

The general feeling amongst those who watched the opening episode of Game of Thrones Season 6 was that this particular episode took a somewhat slower pace than previous opening episodes. However, that’s likely to deal with the after-effects of last year’s shocking season finale. That being said, the show kept true to form in its decision not to feature every major character in the opening episode, much like in previous seasons.

What’s more, long-term fans of Game of Thrones will be more than pleased to hear that the first episode alone has proven that this series is set to be packed with those shocking Game of Thrones moments.

In terms of the premiere itself, you can likely imagine that it was a pretty big event for Game of Thrones fans. With that in mind, a large majority of cast members were in attendance, with big names including Emilia Clarke, Peter Dinklage, Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, Sophie Turner, and Maisie Williams. However, absent from the showing was Kit Harington, best known for portraying Jon Snow, as well as the series’ author, George R.R. Martin.

Whilst the Game of Thrones Season 6 premiere was largely about HBO’s fantasy drama, all eyes were still on how the show’s stars were dressed as they made their way down the red carpet. In terms of the best dressed, according to Vanity Fair, it was Sophie Turner, known for her portrayal of Sansa Stark, who took that title home.

As you can imagine, a large portion of the attention at the premiere was focused towards the stars of Game of Thrones as they made their way down the red carpet and into the showing. However, it’s also worth noting the large fan presence at the premiere, a presence that goes some way to demonstrate the gravitas of excitement around the upcoming season of Game of Thrones.

Yesterday’s premiere takes place ahead of the new season of Game of Thrones. The upcoming season is set to be one of the most explosive yet in the series’ history, with many fans hoping that it will provide key answers to some of the biggest questions left unanswered by the previous season of the show. One of the biggest revelations will come when Game of Thrones fans finally learn whether or not Jon Snow is alive following the shocking end to Season 5.

Season 6 of Game of Thrones will air on April 24 on HBO.
