Is [Spoiler] Really Dead On ‘The Originals’? Who Else Will Die Before The Finale?

Someone else lost their life on The Originals this week during the crossover with The Vampire Diaries. However, this character will not be the only one fans say goodbye to, with two more confirmed to die by the time the Season 3 finale airs.

This week was the crossover with The Vampire Diaries many fans did not really want. Despite continually asking for a Klaroline crossover, fans had to see Matt Donovan face off against Finn and Elijah Mikaelson. Once the whole story line was shared, it did make some sense. Lucien took to Mystic Falls for a spell, because it is hallowed ground.

The Originals showrunner Michael Naducci confirmed that Mystic Falls is a special place, because that is where Esther cast the spell to turn her children into vampires. Lucien wanted to use that hallowed ground to his advantage, and it makes sense that the episode would need to include a character from the town. Since it is set shortly after Damon shut himself in his coffin, it limited the characters available. Bonnie was in The Armoury (along with Nora and Mary Louise), Caroline and Alaric were in Texas, Stefan was on the run with Valerie and Tyler has been MIA for some time. It left Matt to be the one to appear.

It also made sense for Matt to appear, since Finn Mikaelson was paying a visit. Matt was the one to kill Finn back in Season 3 of The Vampire Diaries, and the Mikaelsons do like their grudges.

Surprisingly, The Originals ended with the death of one of the Mikaelsons. That Mikaelson just happened to be Finn, who has really only just come back. The poor guy just has no chance, although he is the one that constantly wants to end his existence as a vampire.

Is he really dead? It seems rather sudden for some fans, but it appears that it is. This is not the only death for Season 3 either. The Originals fans will need to say goodbye to two more characters between now and the Season 3 finale, according to Entertainment Weekly.

Who are those characters going to be? There is currently no confirmation or news over whether they will be good or evil characters. That does lead to some speculation.

It is highly unlikely that Klaus or Elijah will die, and very little chance that Hope will be one of the victims. However, Hayley and Marcel are two main characters that are fair game. Cami could be another one, especially considering Aurora has escaped her prison and Cami wants her revenge. A new vampire going up against a 1000-year-old one is not a smart decision, especially one that is an “upgrade” of the original vampires.

Freya could be a bold decision. While she was not initially a favorite for The Originals fans, she has earned her place within the Mikaelson brood. She wants the best for her family, and to keep them safe. However, she knows that the Mikaelsons will fall: one by friend, one by enemy and one by family. Rebekah has already gone by family and Finn now by enemy, so it leaves one by friend.

Davina also likes to make enemies, and Kol is an option if a Mikaelson has to die. Maybe Davina has to kill him out of love because of his blood lust. Then there is Vincent, who may also need to make a decision to kill a Mikaelson or his life may come to an end because of his connection to them, Cami and the ancestors.

Of course, one or two of the deaths could be evil characters. Lucien and Aurora need stopping, and Tristan is still desiccating somewhere in the middle of the ocean. Any of them could be killed permanently, with one or two of them continuing into Season 4.

It looks like Finn is definitely dead, and now fans will have to wait to find out who else will die on The Originals.
