HTC One X Receives Android 4.0.4 Today, HTC Adds Its Own Improvements

The international version of the HTC One X is receiving an upgrade on Friday to Google Android 4.0.4.

The HTC One X shipped with Google Android 4.0 and will receive several updates when the over-the-air update arrives late Friday night.

HTC has also announced that the HTC Sense skin will receive some changes including menu functionality coming to the multitasking button.

After the update, users will find that the recent apps buttons open a context menu inside of an app instead of opening the multitasking grid inside of HTC Sense. Pressing the key for a longer period of time will open the multitasking menu. The new multitasking feature was implemented after suggestions were made to HTC by its customers.

Also included in the update is a new tab switching button to make for better tab management, while the phone’s camera will receive white balancing and autofocus features for its camera alongside continuous autofocus.

Following the update users will also find themselves with a Single Sign-On feature for Facebook that allows access to the world’s largest social network via multiple apps and the devices web browser.

HTC has also promised improved Beats Audio customizations and improved quality when making video calls.

Other updates to the HTC One X include stability fixes being offered via the Google Android 4.0.4 upgrade and HTC’s own changes to its smartphone platform.

Does the Android 4.0.4 upgrade and new features from HTC made the One X a more appealing smartphone in your opinion?
