Duggars Celebrate National Siblings Day By Posting Photos Of Everyone But Josh, Plug Joy Anna ‘Counting On’ Feature

No one understands the joys and trials of living with siblings more than the Duggar clan. Therefore, it should come as no surprise that the larger-than-life family is celebrating National Siblings Day on social media with a series of sibling-themed photographs. The Duggars included 18 of the 19 Duggar siblings in the photo album with one sibling notably absent from the photo share. While the Duggar family says they have forgiven Josh Duggar for his indiscretions and welcomed him back home from rehab, they do not seem willing to place him back in the public spotlight just yet. In fact, the family seems to be going to great lengths to ensure Josh stays away from the cameras and the public as his siblings take center-stage in the new TLC series, Jill & Jessa: Counting On.

National Siblings Day is described as a time to let your brothers and sisters know how much you appreciate them.

“Siblings Day follows the spirit of Mother’s Day and Father’s Day — a great American tradition and celebration of family-unit values. It is an uplifting celebration honoring people who have shaped our values, beliefs and ideals.”

For a Duggar, this can prove highly difficult as each Duggar has 18 brothers and sisters that they would to honor. Therefore, for National Siblings Day, the Duggar family posted an album of photos that featured some of their favorite Duggar sibling moments. The album contained images that included 18 of the 19 Duggar siblings with only Josh Duggar being excluded from the photo set.

The Duggars recently revealed that Josh Duggar is out of rehab and that the family is working to mend broken bonds. On March 9, Michelle took to her personal blog to outline that Josh had left rehabilitation but that he would need to focus on rebuilding relationships with his family now that the “crucial first step in recovery” was complete.

“Josh has completed his residential rehabilitation program. We are so thankful for everyone who worked with Josh in this program. It was a crucial first step in recovery and healing for Josh. Josh has now returned to Arkansas, where he will continue professional counseling and focus on rebuilding relationships with his family. We look to God for help and guidance and place all of our trust in Him. We are forever grateful for the love and prayers offered by so many and hope you will continue to pray in the days ahead.”

It seems that the rebuilding of relationships is not complete and the Duggars are not comfortable with putting Josh back in the spotlight. While Josh Duggar’s problems have been discussed briefly on Counting On, the disgraced Duggar is not expected to make an appearance on the show. Instead, the show focuses on the other Duggar siblings and their life since the scandals, namely Jill and Jessa’s attempts at raising their own families.

While Jill and Jessa seem to be the intended focus of the show Jill & Jessa: Counting On, the only two names in the title after all, it seems that TLC is trying to shift the focus to all the Duggar siblings, sans Josh. TLC has started referring to the show as simply Counting On, removing the “Jill & Jessa” from many of the promos and using weekly sibling features to entice viewers.

For example, for TLC Siblings Week, Joy Anna was the Duggar sibling featured in the promos.
