Sylvester Stallone, Still Mourning His Son, Makes Appearance At ‘The Expendables 2’ Premiere

Action film legend Sylvester Stallone has been noticeably missing during all of the promotion stops for The Expendables 2 leading up to the premier, and for very good reason.

Last month, Stallone’s 36-year-old son was found dead in his Los Angeles home. In light of the devastating death, Stallone opted to back out of the promotion tour–something that no one in their right mind could blame him for.

While his cast mates pushed on with the promotional tour for The Expendables 2, they were more than understanding of Stallone’s absence. At a recent media event, The Expendables 2 co-star Dolph Lundgren had this to say:

“He knows we’re thinking about him,” Lundgren said of Stallone. “He knows us. He knows our prayers go out to him. But what are you going to do? I have two kids. And all you can do is hug your kids and go thank God it didn’t happen to you.”

After nearly a month of silence, coping with the tragic loss of his son, 66-year-old Stallone made his first appearance at the premiere of The Expendables 2 in Paris alongside his co-stars last night.

The Daily Mail reports:

“The movie legend beamed with his friend and co-star Arnold Schwarzenegger and joked around with another close buddy who stars in the film, Dolph Lundgren.

“He even laid a jokey punch on the Swede’s jaw, but if the Rocky IV star looked concerned, it wasn’t down to fear of being injured… but rather concern for his old friend.”

36-year-old Sage was found lying around scattered pill bottles in his home on July 13. No crime is suspected in Sage’s death, but officials still haven’t publicly released a confirmed cause of death. A report from last month states that Stallone has hired a private investigator to look into his son’s death.

Our prayers continue to go out to Stallone and his family.
