‘Southern Charm’ Season 3 Overshadowed By Behind-The-Scenes Legal Threats

Those Southern Charm folks are coming out swinging. It seems that the real show is not on Bravo, but on Twitter and in the media, because there are lawsuits abound. Secretly shot video, published text conversations, and more are coming out, and it sounds like the only winners at the end of the day will be the lawyers. It’s the usual Southern Charm throw down, Thomas Ravenel versus Kathryn Dennis, and vice versa, plus a threatened suit against the media for publishing allegedly “private” conversations that Dennis says have been fabricated.

According to Inquisitr, Southern Charm star Kathryn Calhoun Dennis has been trying to stay level headed in the midst of over-the-top, crazy behavior from her ex and baby daddy, Thomas Ravenel. In the first episode of Season 3 of Southern Charm, the main scene is of a dinner party, thrown by Ravenel, wherein he insults each of his dinner guests at the dinner table and then literally chases them from his house. This is hardly a display of Southern Charm, or charm of any kind.

The current batch of legal threats and accusations started on Wednesday, when FitsNews ran an article about Southern Charm star Kathryn Dennis, and accusations of drug use and an affair while she was pregnant with her son. The article ran an entire page of text messages (Dennis said they are fabricated) between Dennis and a man other than Ravenel, with whom she allegedly received drugs and engaged in an intimate relationship.

The larger part of the Southern Charm scandal is that throughout the time period suggested by the texts, Kathryn Dennis was pregnant. Since she is in the middle of a custody dispute/challenge with Ravenel, this information, if proven to be true, could hurt her in court. Dennis is adamant that these texts have been fabricated, and she denies using drugs while pregnant. She has also been threatening legal action against FitsNews for publishing the allegedly fabricated text messages.

“I will consider and treat any reprinting of these (messages) as slander and will take the proper legal actions necessary to combat any attack against my character.”

FitsNews then followed up with Southern Charm‘s Thomas Ravenel, who seems to be compiling all of this information, in order to get the upper hand against Kathryn Dennis in an attempt to get more time with his two children. Dennis and Ravenel have a son and a daughter, both born during the run of Southern Charm. The couple have never married.

Southern Charm star Thomas Ravenel, at this point, is infamous for posting on social media, then often thinking better of it and deleting the messages, especially on Twitter. Last week, Ravenel tweeted about how sick he was of carrying the entire cast of Southern Charm, because they have no other source of income, except from their parents. That tweet has been deleted as of this writing, but it has been captured by several media sources prior to being removed.

Ravenel refused to comment directly to FitsNews about the published texts allegedly between Dennis and an unnamed man, but again, he took to Twitter to say that he was taking his son to a doctor in order to seek proof of Dennis’ drug use during her pregnancy. It is unlikely that Ravenel will be able to discover anything in a four month old that would implicate Dennis, even if the rumors were true. From a medical perspective, The Medical Daily reports that some doctors have prescribed marijuana during pregnancy as a treatment for morning sickness, so it is not entirely contraindicated in the medical community. But Ravenel has made his intention clear on Twitter.

“I’m getting an appt. with a neurologist to check Saint. If drug damages are found, I will request criminal charges agains KD’s drug dealer.”

There is no word on whether Ravenel has noticed anything wrong with his 4-month-old son that would suggest that he needs a neurologist, or — if one believes the texts to be authentic — that there would be any basis to charge a third party to make a giant leap that one event caused a problem. For now, these are just social media accusations in what is the Southern Charm relationship between Dennis and Ravenel.

The second episode in Season 3 of Southern Charm airs tomorrow nigh. The #hotmessexpress is on its way.

Do you think that the Southern Charm couple will end up in court soon?
