‘Outlander’ Spoilers: Culture Shock For Jamie & Claire In Season 2

Outlander Season 2 premiered on Saturday night, and the fans loved every minute of the season’s first episode. While the show started with the shocking twist of Claire being transported back to her own time in the 1940s, there were still plenty of scenes with her beloved Jamie for fans to enjoy, as it seems the show will do a lot of time hopping this season.

After it was revealed that Claire went back to the 1940s to save her own life, and the life of her unborn baby, Outlander viewers were transported back to 18th century France as Claire and Jamie made their way into a new country, and a new life. Unfortunately, the Fraser’s have already made an enemy, and he’ll likely work to mess up their big plans throughout the season.

According to Carter Matt, Outlander spoilers for the second episode reveal that there will be a bit of a culture shock for Jamie as well as Claire as they learn the ways of the French people. The episode, which is titled “Not In Scotland Anymore,” will show the Frasers as they mingle with the French people.

In the premiere, fans saw Jamie and Claire try to get face time with the main players in the Jacobite group, using Jamie’s cousin, Jared, to do so. Jared questions Jamie’s newfound interest in politics, and is told all about the horrible things the British army, namely Black Jack Randall, did to torture him. That seems to be reason enough for Jared, and the two men make a deal.

Jared tells Jamie that if he and Claire will run his wine business, which includes a cut of the profit and full reign of his home in Paris, while he’s away on a trip, that he will introduce him to all the Jacobite leaders. Outlander fans know that Claire and Jamie are desperately trying to stop the Jacobite uprising that leads to war, and the end of the Highlander culture. Unfortunately, when Claire returns to the 20th century, she learns that their plans did not work, and that the British won the battle of Culloden.

Now that Claire and Jamie are off to Paris, they’ll land right in the middle of the French social scene, which is so much different from the more rugged life they had been living in Scotland.

So, it seems that Claire and Jamie will begin to meet all the right people as their plan to stop the Jacobite uprising begins, but the Duke of Sandringham could stand in their way. Not only is the Duke close to Black Jack Randall, but he knows all too well about Jamie’s life back in Scotland, and about the fact that he’s a wanted man with a price on his head.
