‘Fear the Walking Dead’ Season 2 Spoilers: Does Premiere Sneak Peek Video Reveal Which ‘Flight 462’ Survivor Will Appear on Show?

The first season of Fear the Walking Dead was intense, as the series, a prequel to The Walking Dead, gave fans a glimpse of what it was like to experience the beginning of the zombie apocalypse. The show’s finale had a group of survivors headed for a yacht called Abigail, hoping the ocean would keep them safe – at least temporarily. A sneak peek video of the series premiere has been released by AMC, which some believe give us a glimpse of a survivor of the companion web series, Flight 462.

During the hiatus of Fear the Walking Dead, fans were given the 16 part web series that featured a varied group of survivors on an airplane as the zombie-creating illness rapidly spread among humans. One of those on Flight 462 was promoted as being a survivor who would appear in the second season of Fear the Walking Dead.

The last episode of web series did cross over into the Fear the Walking Dead universe, as Nick (Frank Dillane) spies the plane while looking up in the sky, as he makes his way outside the home all have gathered in. This scene appears to be correlated with one from the show, in which Nick, who is experiencing withdrawals from drug addiction, is trying to get into a neighbor’s home to find narcotics. Nick stares at the plane, which, from his vantage point, looks like it is in distress.

The Siver Times speculates that “…the plane will not crash into the water…” so the survivor will not be joining the rest of the group on the yacht. However, some believe that a sneak peek of the season 2 premiere episode of Fear the Walking Dead called “Monster,” shows the survivor with the others and reveals exactly who will be joining the group.

According to Fansided, the character of Charlie (Michelle Ang) from Flight 462 will “…join the show’s second season.” The website further theorizes that although the web series did not “…show who survived the wreck” a promo for Fear the Walking Dead shows the survivor “…fighting with the main characters from season 1.”

In the promotional video, Fansided asserts Charlie can be seen behind Alicia (Alycia Debnam-Carey) and some others, “…proving that she will be the sole survivor to join the cast.” This may be a benefit to the group because in Flight 462, Charlie is depicted as a woman who has some knowledge of the outbreak that caused the zombie apocalypse and may also have possible “…experience dealing with the undead,” according to Fansided.

MXDWN also reports that Ang’s character, Charlie, will be the Flight 462 survivor that joins the Fear the Walking Dead cast. According to the website, Charlie can be seen in the premiere promo clip when it is paused at 0:04. MXDWN further notes the character has dark hair and is wearing the same outfit that she is seen in during the web series – what appears to be a green army-type jacket.

Design & Trend reports that although the Charlie character may be the sole surviving member of Flight 462, this does not necessarily mean that she will be in every episode of Fear the Walking Dead, or play “…a huge role on the show moving forward.”

This notion supports what showrunner Dave Erickson revealed to The Hollywood Reporter back in October 2015. He said the following regarding the integration of the web series into the actual show

“We’ll see at least one character from Flight 462 who makes an appearance. As to how involved that narrative thread becomes, that remains to be seen. We will conflate those two story lines over the course of season two.”

MXDWN reports that Charlie is not the only new character to join Fear the Walking Dead cast. The website notes that “…Dougray Scott (Desperate Housewives), Arturo Del Puerto (Ride Along 2), Daniel Zovatto (It Follows), and Veronica Diaz (Taco Shop),” will be joining the show’s cast.

Cross Map indicates that season 2 of Fear the Walking Dead will reportedly focus on a brand new villainous character, who is manipulative and able to persuade others that he’s a “good guy.”

The season 2 premier of Fear the Walking Dead premieres Sunday, April 10, at 9 p.m. on AMC.
