‘The Walking Dead’: The Kingdom Coming In Season 7? What Is Known About This ‘TWD’ Community

The Walking Dead Season 6 finale introduced Negan, but fans were left with a cliffhanger, as previously reported by the Inquisitr. Now viewers have to wait until October to find out who got Lucilled. While everyone is discussing who Negan may have killed on TWD, others want to focus on other aspects of the show. For Season 7, what can fans expect? One theory is that a new community named The Kingdom will be introduced. Who are these people and what can fans expect if they appear in The Walking Dead Season 7?

The Kingdom is a community in The Walking Dead comic books and were introduced in issue 108. Their home base is located at a school and the group is run by a man named Ezekiel. According to Walking Dead Wikia, nobody can see Ezekiel without an escort, not even allies of The Kingdom.

How does The Kingdom tie in with Negan and the Saviors in The Walking Dead? In the comic books, Jesus and Rick Grimes go to Ezekiel with a plan to take down Negan and the Saviors. Ezekiel agrees to the plan and many people in The Kingdom temporarily move to Alexandria because it is closer to their enemy.

In the comics, Negan and the Saviors are defeated, but it isn’t a quick victory. Ezekiel, Rick, and Jesus take weeks to make their battle plans. Knowing how TWD sometimes drags things out, it is possible that The Kingdom’s war against Negan and the Saviors could take up the first half of Season 7.

Even though many expect The Kingdom to make an appearance in Season 7, it isn’t a guarantee, so this shouldn’t be considered a “spoiler,” but a theory. Sometimes The Walking Dead follows the comic book storylines and other times it doesn’t. However, there are some TWD fans that believe The Kingdom was seen in one of the last episodes of The Walking Dead Season 6 in a scene with Rick and Morgan. In an interview with ComicBook, Scott M. Gimple wouldn’t give too much information about the men seen in combat attire.

“Those guys may or may not have been from The Kingdom,” Scott M. Gimple told ComicBook. “We may or may not see The Kingdom. If we do see The Kingdom, it’ll be a big reveal and it’ll be another new world to inhabit and explore.”

What else is known about The Kingdom in The Walking Dead? They are a trading community, similar to the Hilltop Colony. They have issues with Negan and the Saviors and Ezekiel’s group appears to be “good survivors.” With all the villains Rick’s group has encountered over the years, it’s about time that they meet some good guys.

There also appears to be a pet tiger named Shiva in The Kingdom, but it is unknown if the animal will make it to The Walking Dead TV show. The tiger is killed by walkers, but it’s unknown whether the animal has such a big significance that it needs to be in the television series. Gimple was also asked about the tiger, but the showrunner once again gave only a vague answer.

“Can we have a real tiger? That’s a great way to put the questions to me because it sort of corners me into a spoiler,” Gimple responded to questions about Shiva to ComicBook. “I would say, in a really cheeky way, that we can have a lot of things and people are gonna have to wait and see. If I were just watching the show – I’d want to see that tiger.”
