Nicolas Cage Fights Mötley Crüe’s Vince Neil To Protect Fan

Nicolas Cage and Vince Neil, of Mötley Crüe, got into an altercation in Las Vegas, outside of the Aria Resort & Casino. Neil assaulted a fan, and Cage did not approve.

Nicolas Cage and Vince Neil are no strangers to fans and autographs. However, it appears that Neil didn’t want to be bothered during this particular instance. Before Nicolas had to level up as a “Cage” fighter, a fan approached him for a signing.

Daily Mail notes that Nicolas and Vince were inside the casino hanging out together. Then, after the fan interrupted their buddy time, that’s when everything started. USA Today reports that Neil then got into a confrontation with Cage’s female fan and physically assaulted her.

According to the woman, Vince grabbed her by the hair and pulled her to the ground. Specifically, reports Daily Mail, Neil “got behind the woman,” first — before attacking as aforementioned. At that point, Cage took Neil outside to confront him about his behavior.

The source mentioned that Vince Neil was “unsteady and confused,” which you can see from the video below.

Given Vince’s past alcohol tendencies, his apparent confusion and aggression might have come from one-too-many drinks while inside the casino. However, that’s just speculation. Nicolas Cage, while dressed to impress, handled the situation and subdued his Mötley Crüe friend with an arm bar. While Nicolas had Vince in his grasp, he attempted to calm his friend — but not before shouting, “Stop this s**t, now!” After things began to settle down, Cage let Neil know that he loved him.

Daily Mail notes that Nicolas and Vince had been outside for a while, and the above video footage was only the end of the altercation. Although the situation was squashed, the resolve didn’t stop the woman from pressing charges against Neil at the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department.

According to USA Today, LVPD’s public information officer Laura Meltzer confirmed that Vince was cited for misdemeanor battery. However, he wasn’t taken into custody. Yet, since this is a serious matter, he must appear in court on June 17.

While Nicolas Cage attempted to help his friend out of a potentially bad situation, at this point, things are left up to the evidence and witnesses. The source also mentions that Vince Neil’s attorney has asked the public not to prejudge the situation, and he’s thoroughly investigating the incident.

Yet, to digress, as USA Today reported on Nicolas Cage, “the actor emerged looking pretty good” in Las Vegas. Sometimes, staying out of the tabloids is the best way for celebrities to stay out of trouble, right? For good measure, Nicolas Cage showed that he cares about his fans’ respect — even when it concerns a friend.

Nicolas has been quite busy with film production. Internet Movie Database (IMDb) reports that Cage just finished a movie called The Trust. Also, Nicolas has four movies currently in post-production and five in pre-production statuses.

As for Vince Neil, Daily Mail mentioned that this altercation isn’t his first run-in with law enforcement. The source listed a multitude of offenses the rock star has accumulated over the years. From vehicular manslaughter to other violent offenses, Neil continues to receive what appears to be slaps on the wrists.

For instance, pertaining to the 1984 vehicular manslaughter case, Daily Mail notes that Neil’s accident killed his passenger and injured two others — one of whom suffered brain damage — in the other involved vehicle.

Vince Neil was found to have been under the influence of alcohol. His blood-alcohol level was at 0.17. For this crime, he was sentenced to 30 days in jail. However, Neil got out 15 days early for good behavior. After this, he had to pay the victims and their families $2.8 million in restitution and complete 200 hours of community service.

Since then, Vince has been cited for other DUIs, says the source.
