Is Corey Simms Quitting ‘Teen Mom 2’? He Isn’t Thrilled With Editing As New Photo Is Shared

Corey Simms’ father, Jeff Simms, has shared a new photo of the Teen Mom 2 star’s 6-year-old daughter, Aleeah, as rumors continue to swirl regarding Corey Simms’ reportedly reduced role on the MTV reality series.

Following a report that claimed Corey Simms and his wife, Miranda, would be seen much less during the seventh season of Teen Mom 2, Jeff posted a new photo, which featured a closeup of Corey Simms and Leah Messer’s daughter.

“I love my Aleeah Grace! #aligrace,” Corey Simms’ dad, Jeff, wrote on Instagram along with one of his latest photos of the his granddaughters.

Corey Simms and Messer share two daughters, twins Ali and Aleeah, and have been feuding over custody for nearly two years. As fans saw during one of the first episodes of Teen Mom 2 Season 7, Corey Simms was awarded primary custody of the girls late last year after Messer was seen struggling to get them to school on time. While Messer has since agreed to a joint custody agreement, as Us Weekly revealed in January, their issues have continued. After Corey Simms began to feel that MTV was editing the show in Messer’s favor, he reportedly chose to cut down on his camera time.

“[Corey Simms] feels MTV did him dirty,” a friend of Corey Simms told Radar Online in March, claiming the reality star feels that producers ignored Messer’s “pill-popping” behavior.

“He thinks they had the perfect opportunity to show viewers, ‘This is what happens when you get on drugs, this is the reality.’ Instead, they made it seem like [Corey Simms] was constantly attacking Leah for no reason,” the insider stated.

As Radar Online pointed out, Messer was caught “slurring her words and even nodding off with her infant niece in arms” during scenes from Teen Mom 2, but when it came to Messer, she never admitted on camera that she was struggling with drugs. Instead, she claimed her issues stemmed from anxiety and depression. Meanwhile, Corey Simms’ friend insisted Messer’s questionable behavior on-screen was just the tip of the iceberg.

“[Corey Simms] told MTV just what he thought about the situation, and said that he and Miranda would not film nearly as much as in past seasons,” the friend revealed. “Producers understood.”

During Teen Mom 2 Season 6, Corey Simms was seen expressing his concern for his children on a couple of occasions, and twice, he was seen mentioning his ex-wife’s alleged drug problem — and he wasn’t the only one. At one point, Corey Simms met up with Jeremy Calvert, Messer’s other ex-husband, to discuss what Calvert noted as a “prescription pill problem.”

After the episodes aired, Corey Simms received tons of backlash, which he responded to on Twitter.

“There is a reason for everything that Miranda and myself have said or done,” Corey Simms explained to fans. “We simply want the girls to grow up in a safe and healthy environment. There is a lot of things that has been told to us by very close members of her family that lead us to believe the things being told are very much true.”

Following months of allegations against her, Messer entered an Arizona treatment center in May 2015, but she has never admitted to using drugs or to being addicted to her prescribed pain medication, which she began taking after the birth of her third child, Adalynn, in 2013.
