Randy Travis Was Naked And Threatening Cops Before DWI Arrest

Country singer Randy Travis was arrested last night for Driving While Intoxicated last night as reported by the Inquisitr’s Tara Dodrill. He was also charged with felony retaliation and obstruction according to police. Travis was naked when the police arrived at the scene and when they placed him in the squad car he threatened to kill the officers.

Police were called to the scene of an accident yesterday. When they arrived they found Travis lying naked on the side of the road. Closely the observed an accident where they saw Travis’ 1998 Trans Am wrecked against a bunch of construction materials.

The police made sure that Travis was OK and then put the cuffs on him and tried to put him in the squad car. Travis became enraged and threatened to kill the police officers that were present according to Tom Vinger, spokesman for the Texas Department of Public Safety

Travis refused to take a breathalyzer test and was forced to give a blood specimen. Police are waiting for the results of the test.

Travis was released on a bond of $21,500 and ordered to appear before a judge as a condition of his release.

This is not Randy Travis’ first run in with the law this year over drinking. In February he was charged with public intoxication after he was arrested for sitting in a car in front of a church 20 miles from his Texas home. He had just had a fight with his girlfriend and was very drunk at the time.

At the time Travis apologized to the fans for his behavior saying,

“I apologize for what resulted following an evening of celebrating the Super Bowl. I’m committed to being responsible and accountable, and apologize for my actions.”

Call to Travis’ representatives have gone unreturned.
