Jennifer Aniston On ‘Quieting Voices In Her Head” For A Good Night’s Sleep And Why Jake Gyllenhaal Has A Monster Crush On Her

Talented and health-conscious actress Jennifer Aniston seems to have it all together and not miss a beat in regards to keeping herself looking her best, from her fit physique to her flawless flowing hair and her glowing complexion. She is always wearing a beaming smile and ready with pertinent advice for fans and fitness enthusiasts about great routines and proper diets. Aniston has that fresh-faced appearance that has landed her the gig as the face of Aveeno and Smartwater as well as Living Proof hair care products. It’s easy to hang on Jen’s every word when she shares her secrets because she is “living proof” that her tips and tricks work.

The latest subject Aniston has spoken about is how she gets a great night’s sleep. Believe it or not, Jennifer is not always able to sleep and often has suffered from insomnia. In a Q&A with Arianna Huffington of the Huffington Post, Jen tells all about how to get the rest she needs. Huffington asked Aniston about “quieting the voices” which keep her up in the early morning hours, and Aniston relays that the editor-in-chief of the publication was helpful in assisting her with her sleep deprivation, as is noted by HP.

“[M]y one key tip — and actually I feel like it’s you who told me this! — is to sleep with my phone at least five feet away from me. That’s helped me tremendously. And I also do a quick meditation before I get into bed, even if it’s just for five minutes. There are also some yoga poses that I’ve found to be quite helpful in relaxing my mind, even if it’s just a simple downward dog and some stretching. But the biggest thing is the electronics shutdown, ideally an hour before I turn off the lights. It’s really a big deal.”

Jen has made it known that she is a bit of a night owl and prefers to stay up quite late. However, the Cake star also shares that often she gets up for workouts as early as 5 a.m. Sleeping restfully is clearly something that the busy star requires. To the question posed by Huffington asking whether Aniston enjoys a hot bath to relax before bedtime, Jen shared that she typically is not a fan of the routine.

“I’m actually not one of those girls that loves a bath. I tend to get a little antsy in a bath for some reason. But a shower always helps. Though what’s funny is that much as I like showers to relax me, it’s something I always forget.”

To this, Arianna reminded of the fact that often the day can cause such stress that often the tactics that can help relieve the stress are forgotten. To this, Jennifer responded in agreement.

“It’s usually when you’re trying to help someone else with their issues that you remember all of the tricks and secrets. But then when it’s yourself that you need to help, somehow you forget. It’s really physician, heal thyself!”

Jennifer Aniston has a lot of wisdom to share and has gained quite a fanbase and following due to her pertinent advice on issues that are health-related. She has also gained a following because of her talent and obvious beauty. One such fan and follower is none other than notable actor Jake Gyllenhaal.

The former costar to Jen in the film The Good Girl shared how he has had a major crush on the star for some time. E! shares Jake’s words about Aniston.

“She’s a rough one, you know, not likable. So hard to compliment. I will say, I had a crush on her for years. And working with her was not easy…I was–um, yeah. That’s all I’m going to say. It was lovely. It wasn’t hard, that’s what I would say.”
