NFL rumors are swirling around Paxton Lynch. Several teams are showing strong interest in the Memphis Tigers starting quarterback. Trades are being discussed by several teams in the National Football League because executives are trying to position themselves to be able to choose the 22-year-old at the end of the month. According to NFL., the Dallas Cowboys are one of those teams. Taking the talented Texas native would possibly enable them to resolve issues behind Tony Romo on the depth chart.
By now, everyone that watches the NFL is aware of the quarterback situation for the Dallas Cowboys. Tony Romo is a talented player who can help them get to the Super Bowl, but his health has been a major concern. The Cowboys lost their season when he suffered two separate broken collarbone injuries last year. Guys like Brandon Weeden, Matt Cassel, and Kellen Moore tried, but none of them could guide the ship for Dallas.

The Dallas Cowboys have done several things to help Tony Romo. Jerry Jones has built one of the best offensive lines in the NFL. He signed Alfred Morris to help strengthen the ground game. The Cowboys have also been looking to upgrade their defense, so that Dallas won’t need to play catch-up by throwing the ball more times than they should. Now, the next step is to find a contingency plan.

In the NFL, it is much more acceptable to choose a developmental player later on in the first round than it is in the early rounds. Considering the health and age of Tony Romo, then it becomes even more acceptable to choose a backup quarterback during that point in the draft. Right now, Paxton Lynch is hovering around that range, so he would be quite the intriguing prospect for the Dallas Cowboys if another team doesn’t snatch him up first.

As is usually the case every single year, the Dallas Cowboys are going to be heavily featured during the NFL Draft. Their first choice is up in the air, but making Paxton Lynch their second choice in the first round makes a whole lot of sense.
