‘The Walking Dead’ Fans Start Petition To Have AMC Reveal Who Died

There is no doubt that The Walking Dead fans are crazy with passion about how Season 6 of The Walking Dead ended. It was heart-wrenching enough to know that one of our beloved favorite characters met a violent death, but the fact that fans don’t know who died has added salt to the injury, and it is driving them to extremes. One fan was so upset about the whole cliffhanger of The Walking Dead that he started a Change.org petition.

Fans are so bothered by it that they are still talking about The Walking Dead finale and expressing their unhappiness (yes, that’s an understatement!) about the whole situation.

Most of the fans of The Walking Dead knew that Negan would make his appearance on the very last episode of Season 6. They knew that Lucille, the barbed-wire-wrapped baseball bat that he calls his “wife” in the comics, would be in his hand. They knew that someone would be beaten to death with Lucille. And thanks to the many spoilers that came out before The Walking Dead season finale, some fans had a pretty good idea of how it would go.

But most fans did not truly believe that The Walking Dead writers would dare to leave them with such a heart-wrenching cliffhanger. But they did, and they left us hanging until October.

Fans of The Walking Dead have been grumbling, moaning, yelling, and expressing their feelings about the whole thing since Sunday night when the screen went black and all they could hear was the terrifying screams of the surviving Alexandria residents and the gruesome sounds of Lucille connecting with someone’s flesh.

As one fan on Twitter said,

Mason Cade Zeller, of New Zealand, wasn’t satisfied with just venting on Twitter or other social media though. He started a Change.org petition, which states,

“I would like AMC to show us who Negan killed in the Season 6 finale of The Walking Dead. We want this either in an interim episode that borders Season 6 and 7, or a short R-Rated webisode that shows us the death in all it’s bloody glory. Either of these are fine as long as it’s released before May 30th.”

So far, he has 54 supporters as of the time of this writing. Fans that have commented share his views saying the cliffhanger is “traitor worthy and mutiny” and “this finale reeks of insulated, laptop-jockey Hollywood types writing in the vacuum of a privileged writers room.”

Is there any chance that AMC producers of The Walking Dead will cave in and reveal the truth about who died? It’s not very likely considering that The Walking Dead producers have said that the actual sequence of someone being killed hasn’t even been filmed and that the actors don’t even know who it is that gets killed.

Comic Book agrees with this idea and points out,

“That demand is unlikely to be heeded by the network; aside from a history of not responding to online petitions, there’s the fact that they have reportedly not yet filmed the resolution of the cliffhanger — which means insisting on a six-week turnaround is pretty much impossible.”

Zeller is not the only fan that thinks that his petition will help him find out who is the recipient of Lucille on The Walking Dead finale. Bloody Disgusting reports that a second petition “threatens a boycott if things don’t change. The demands are pretty hilarious, going as far as to demand that showrunner Scott M. Gimple’s contract be dissolved (seriously).”
