Kevin Spacey In Real Life Is Just So Much Nicer Than Frank Underwood

Kevin Spacey has learned that working as an actor requires him to bring the right spirit and energy to create something spectacular. Before returning to the screen with the phenomenally successful House of Cards series, Kevin Spacey had acted on Broadway, made it big in Hollywood, and worked as a director of the Old Vic theater in London. Even in his Twitter profile, Kevin Spacey describes himself as a “former shoe salesman now making a go at film and theater.” Kevin Spacey says that he cherished every aspect of his journey, as every experience exposed him to new dimensions and learning opportunities.

In an interview with Vanity Fair, Kevin Spacey explained that he was in a position to make unconventional career moves because he was very fortunate to receive guidance from mentors who were not only knowledgeable but who were also keen to groom the struggling actor for making it to the top. Ultimately, he knew that it would require a combination of hard work and proper guidance from a good mentor to achieve success.

According to Kevin Spacey, he always tried to remember that after he reached his goals, he intended to pass on his skills and good fortune to others still striving to make it to the top. This is because, in times of distress, the greatest help and motivation will come from those who believe in your potential even when you are on the verge of losing hope. Kevin believes that after achieving success, he must return the favor by helping others who are less fortunate. In his interview with Vanity Fair, Kevin Spacey spoke about the importance of giving back to society.

“If you’ve done well, it’s your obligation to spend a good portion of your time sending the elevator back down.”

With the overall aim of help aspiring artists, Kevin established the Kevin Spacey Foundation, which focuses on discovering, training, financing, and mentoring talented young people in the arts. Kevin’s initiative enables young people full of potential to have the opportunity to further their skills. Time reported that Kevin teamed with the Florida Panthers, the Miami-based ice hockey team, to sell the popular “Spacey in Space” hoodies to generate funds that will go to the team’s foundation and the Kevin Spacey Foundation.

The Spacey in Space hoodie was also awarded to the Panthers’ most valuable player as the sweatshirt represented hard work, dedication, and commitment.

And it’s not just struggling actors that Kevin Spacey cares about. People reported that recently, Kevin Spacey visited the children at Seacrest Studios Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta at Egleston to interact with the patients. Kevin cracked jokes, signed autographs, and answered silly questions that came from the patients. Additionally, Kevin had invited Marisa McKaye, an 11-year old singer-songwriter, as a special guest to sing an inspirational song to cheer the patients.

Kevin Spacey seems to appreciate that connecting with the patients is the key to their recovery and that the fundamental ability to connect makes him more empathetic and caring towards the patients. Kevin shares this sentiment with his friend Bill Clinton, the former President of the United States who founded the Clinton Foundation, an organization that provides better healthcare by bringing together different stakeholders who can make a difference.

The Santa Cruz Sentinel reports that Kevin Spacey and Bill Clinton are mutual admirers of each other, and both of them believe that whenever possible, they must extend a helping hand to those who need it the most.
