One Direction: Harry Styles ‘Love Rat’ Accusations Flying Again

Harry Styles is no stranger to tabloid claims that he is a womanizer, a cheat, and a love rat. The tabloids have had an unhealthy fascination with One Direction star Harry’s personal life since he was just 16-years-old. The fact is that the sexualization of Harry Styles and indeed of his bandmates played a major part in One Direction’s rise to becoming the world’s most successful boy-band. Harry’s management doubtless played a part in forging the image of Styles the ladies man, and above all else it is this that has led most Styles fans to detest One Direction’s management and the tabloid press.

It seems that this portrayal of Harry is never-ending. Styles was barely out of the X-Factor studio before claims emerged that Harry was bedding staffer Caroline Flack, a woman twice his age. Since then, Harry has been linked with literally hundreds of beautiful women. Sometimes it seems that Harry only has to be in the same state as a woman for someone to claim they are dating.

Ironically, Styles has been keeping a pretty low profile in recent months. Whilst the tabloids have been focused on Harry’s bandmates, Liam Payne and Louis Tomlinson, Styles has for the most part been invisible. Of course, Harry gave his fans a little boost in January when it was revealed that he had dumped One Direction’s management team. As reported in The Inquisitr, other than that and a few fairy stories linking Harry with Kendall Jenner, stories about Styles have focused on what Harry didn’t do.

Of course, such weighty issues as whether or not Harry would have a haircut have dominated the gossip column headlines until yesterday. Yesterday, One Direction’s tormentor-in-chief, Sun columnist Dan Wootton, claimed that Styles had been in a relationship with a member of the flight crew who worked on One Direction’s private jet during the last tour.

Apparently, Harry told 24-year-old Megan Smith that she was “his girlfriend.” The Sun claims today that Megan has branded Harry “a liar and a cheat,” saying that Harry came straight from his tryst with Kendall Jenner aboard the Azoff’s yacht to spend time with her at his house in London.

“I had two great days with Harry but as I was leaving at the airport on the way back I saw the shot of him and Kendall together on the yacht. I was gutted. Literally, he had got off the boat with her and come to London to see me.

“He asked me what I did over New Years and I was like, ‘I was with family’ and he’s like, ‘I spent mine with friends and family.’ I was like ‘Oh, ok cool.’ He blatantly lied to me about it.”

According to the Mirror, Styles “cut-off all contact” with Megan after she discovered that Kendall had joined Harry on the yacht. Of course, a cynic might question Megan Smith’s timeline. Lets be frank: Harry spent several days aboard the yacht after Kendall left. Whilst Kendall and Harry were both onboard, you could not open a social media feed or a newspaper without being assaulted with photographs of Styles and Jenner “canoodling.”

Smith claims that she joined Harry in London some days after he returned home and that she only saw claims that Harry and Kendall had spent new-year together after she spent a few days at Harry’s home. Harry’s fans will doubtless believe that claim in the same way that they believe the moon is made from green cheese. Judging by the number of photographs Megan Smith has posted of herself online, she is clearly familiar with social media. Harry’s fans will be very skeptical at claims that she did not see pictures of Styles and Jenner for at least a week.

Harry’s fans will also be wondering just why it has taken so long for these claims to come to light. Many will believe that Sun columnist Dan Wootton has been itching for an opportunity to show Styles in a poor light ever since he branded Harry “disloyal” for ditching One Direction’s management and PR teams. Wootton has close personal relationships with both. Let’s not forget that The Sun also claimed that Harry was cheating on Kendall Jenner with Pandora Lennard.

As a footnote, you have to wonder what Megan Smith gains from this. If the claims she bedded Harry are true, then she will almost certainly have kissed goodbye to her career. In the world of private jets, relationships with clients are a huge no-no, and discretion is an absolute must. By claiming a relationship with Harry Styles, Smith would never be trusted in that environment again.
