Christian School Principal, Douglas J. Allison, Arrested And Charged With Molesting Two Of His Students On Multiple Occasions, Right In His Own Classroom

The principal of a small Seventh Day Adventist school in Washington State has been arrested for the alleged molestation of two of his young female students. Douglas J. Allison, 55, principal of Mountain View Christian School, has been charged with raping and sexually assaulting a 10-year-old girl and her classmate. Allison, unbelievably, even told prosecutors that one of the girls “asked for it.” In addition to acting as principal for Mountain View, Allison was also one of two teachers responsible for educating students at the institution.

According to The Daily Beast, the mother of the 10-year-old found out about the abuse through the child’s cousin, who is also a classmate. The cousin said that she had seen the principal tap the child’s buttocks. On questioning her daughter, the daughter told her that Allison “had been touching her privates every day at school.”

The girl told her mother that she had repeatedly asked Allison to stop, but that he continued to commit the assaults. She also said that he had been touching her inappropriately every day since she had started fourth grade.

When detectives learned of the 10-year-old’s abuse they also questioned her cousin for additional details. It was then that they learned that another potential victim existed, an 11-year-old. On questioning the newly-revealed victim, she admitted that she had been molested in similar fashion by Douglas Allison. In addition to touching her inappropriately over her clothing, he also showed her the definition of the word “ulus” on his cellphone, a word used contextually to describe a very large penis inserted into an anus.

The 11-year-old’s mother worked in conjunction with police to elicit a confession from Allison. When she phoned him to confront him with her daughter’s allegations, he admitted to touching her and said that he was already under investigation. He told the mother that he had only touched the girl a few times, and he only touched her where she asked him to.

Along with this, police videotaped a confession from Douglas Allison after his arrest wherein he admitted to touching the girls over their clothing, digitally penetrating (penetrating with a finger) one of them, and making the 11-year-old touch his genitals in addition to placing his penis in her mouth.

Fox 29 writes that Detective Sergeant John Keegan believes that Douglas Allison molested the two girls in his classroom while other students were present. The principal used his desk to block what he was doing from the view of the rest of the class.

Mountain View Christian School is located in the town of Sequim. It is part of a network of schools built under the oversight of the Seventh Day Adventist denomination. Approximately 8,000 of these schools have been built around the world.

A highlight of this Christian denomination is that they believe that the Sabbath should be observed on Saturday instead of Sunday. The faith has more than 18 million members across the globe.

Mountain View’s website has been taken down, but a cached version shows that it marketed itself as being “committed to providing quality education in a Christ-filled environment.”

Its mission statement also contained the following.

“The Mountain View Christian School family exists to show children Jesus, nurture their love for Him and others, teach them to think, and empower them to serve. We believe that true education develops the spiritual, mental, and physical powers of each student.”

Becky Meharry, a spokesperson for the Seventh-Day Adventist Church, said that Allison was immediately placed on leave after the allegations were brought to light.

Detectives also learned of additional troubling information upon interviewing school officials. John Gatchet, chairman of the board, admitted that he had reprimanded Allison previously after a parent had complained that he was putting his arms around children and hugging them earlier in the school year.

Prosecutor Michele Devlin summarized the seriousness of the charges at Douglas Allison’s bond hearing.

“Mr. Allison is a schoolteacher of minor children, and the allegations are that he molested and potentially raped children in front of his class while other children were watching. He is a danger to any other child out there.”

Douglas Allison is currently charged with 12 counts of child molestation and child rape. The Seattle Times reports that his bail has been set at $100,000.
