Years ago, women who confidently exposed their behinds were not only slut-shamed, but considered outcasts. However, as Mariah Carey and Gwen Stefani flashed their behinds this week, they proved this is now the norm.
The Mirror reported on Mariah Carey’s butt flashing on Saturday.
“Mariah Carey seemed to take a leave out of Madonna’s book by flashing her bum cheeks. The 46-year-old star, who is currently on her Sweet Sweet Fantasy Tour, was clearly in a cheeky mood as she shared a photo of her peachy bottom on Instagram on Saturday. She captioned the snap: ‘Hey Sweden glad to be back to see u.'”
As the Mirror notes, Mariah appears to be reaching up to embrace two male friends in the picture. Perhaps, they are members of her staff. This took place just a couple days after Wonderwall reported that Mariah Carey’s sister Alison, who is dying of AIDS, begged the singer for help with medical care.
The article explains that after a home invasion last year, Carey’s sister Alison was spotted wandering in the street barefoot. Apparently, she suffered brain damage from the incident and was helped by the police. Mariah’s brother Morgan has asked the future Mrs. Packer to step in and pay for Alison’s medical care.
Alison was left $1.6 million by her father, who died in 2002. However, much of the money went to fill a drug addiction. Some fans have begged Mariah to pay for her sister, while others note that Mariah’s sister is not Mariah’s responsibility, especially since both have always had an icy relationship.
“The 46-year-old singer, who performed two songs and made a cameo in what has become a popular viral sketch [Saturday Night Live], wore to the after-party a risqué, semi-sheer outfit made up of a black bustier, a super short, multi-colored asymmetrical mini skirt and mesh overlay with a ruffled bottom, paired with pointed black stiletto pumps and her signature high blond ponytail. Her skirt was so short on one side that part of her butt cheek was left exposed.”
The article adds that the party was also attended by cast members Leslie Jones, Peter Dinklage (Game of Thrones), Adam Sandler, and Judd Apatow. Gwen Stefani’s appearance on Saturday Night Live was well received on Twitter.
Gwen Stefani was celebrating last week when her album This Is What The Truth Feels Like debuted at No. 1. However, Hits Daily Double‘s preview chart, which is very similar to Billboard‘s album chart, shows that the album had dropped all the way to No. 17 on the second week. If it ends up dropping the same spots on Billboard, it could be one of the biggest album drops from No. 1 to take place in years. Let’s hope that Gwen Stefani’s SNL appearance can save the album from becoming a total bomb.
