WWE Rumors: Japanese Star And Former TNA World Champion Seen At ‘NXT Takeover: Dallas’ – Both Joining WWE?

On Friday night, the WrestleMania 32 weekend officially kicked off with NXT Takeover: Dallas, and many believe that WWE will need to step up their game to top that event. Not only was it filled with great matches and the debut of Shinsuke Nakamura, but there were a number of big names in attendance as well. Those names include former TNA World Champion Bobby Roode and Japanese star Kota Ibushi, but are they joining WWE?

Many couldn’t believe their eyes when Bobby Roode was shown on camera at NXT Takeover: Dallas on Friday night. Yes, he is no longer with TNA. Yes, he was spotted in the Dallas area on Friday, but still, it was a shock for him to be there.

There has been talk and some rumors flying that Roode could be in talks with WWE after he parted ways with TNA just a couple of weeks ago. For him to show up at a huge event during the biggest wrestling weekend of the year, that has to mean something.

Roode is a former TNA World Champion and his tag team partner with the company, James Storm, just returned after a short stint with NXT. Storm had appeared for NXT a few times, and then went back to TNA after he was offered more money than WWE was willing to give.

Beer Money reunited and won the TNA Tag Titles, but now Storm’s partner is gone. Not only is he gone, but it appears he’s found a new home as well.

WWE hopped on Twitter again and questioned the appearance of Bobby Roode at the event on Friday night. Roode was ready to answer, and more is coming.

Roode was far from the only big star at ringside for NXT Takeover: Dallas though. Sean Waltman and Scott Hall were also there along with Linda McMahon and Stephanie McMahon. One other big name caught everyone’s eye though, and it was NJPW star Kota Ibushi.

WWE made it a focus to point out that Ibushi was there and he wasn’t just shown on camera, but detailed on the website. They even made it a point to say that speculation was about to heat up on whether Ibushi would be heading to NXT, WWE, or if he was just there as a fan.

Maybe…maybe, he’s entering into the new cruiserweight tournament that WWE recently started.

“The decorated grappler could have been taking in another action-packed NXT TakeOver, like the thousands of other fans in attendance at the Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center. However, there’s also the possibility that he’s scouting his future competition. If it’s indeed the latter, who in NXT might Ibushi have his sights set on? Does the man they call “Golden Star” have plans to enter his name into the recently announced Global Cruiserweight Series? What dream matchups could be in store for Ibushi?”

On a night when Japanese star Shinsuke Nakamura made his NXT debut with a victory over Sami Zayn in easily a “Match of the Year” candidate, seeing Ibushi made fans even more excited. To have yet another worldly star possibly coming to WWE is nothing but good news.

WWE also wondered why Bobby Roode was there. The fact that they paid close attention to both of these stars makes it seem like something much more is coming just as it did with Nakamura, AJ Styles, and soon to be seen with Doc Gallows and Karl Anderson.

Bobby Roode and Kota Ibushi showing up at NXT Takeover: Dallas not only got the Internet rumors swirling, but it kind of seems almost a definite now that they will land in WWE. Both NJPW and TNA have lost numerous talents over the past couple of months, and WWE is taking advantage.
