‘Mad Max’ Star Charlize Theron Dishes On Feud With Tom Hardy

Actress and model Charlize Theron was as outspoken as ever while she talked about her experiences in working with Tom Hardy on Mad Max: Fury Road (2015) and the difficulties that arose between the two performers. Charlize comes clean in a new interview and describes the experience in an honest way, but, proving herself to be the classy lady her fans have come to respect, Ms. Theron doesn’t take any cheap shots.

Mad Max: Fury Road Created Fiction For Charlize Theron And Tom Hardy

Charlize revealed that she and co-star Tom Hardy were at odds most of the time, while filming Mad Max, but, now that the experience has passed, she’s quick to defend him. Ms. Theron says she knows Hardy has had a good reputation and that she’s only heard positive things from other actors and actresses who have worked with him in the past. The Mad Max actress suggests that maybe their rivalry was needed to create the animosity between their characters.

“Maybe the movie is what it is because we struggled so much with each other, and those characters had to struggle so much with each other. If we were chum-chum, maybe the movie would have been 10 times worse,” Theron says.

Director George Miller, in commenting on the feud between Charlize and Tom, seemed to agree with Theron’s assessment. He says the Mad Max characters played by Theron and Hardy are at each other’s throats at the beginning of Mad Max: Fury Road, but, as they’re forced to come together throughout the film, the characters must learn to trust each other. Miller reveals that it was much the same for Charlize and Tom off screen as well.

Speaking of feuds, Charlize took a moment to comment on the rumors surrounding her break-up with Sean Penn, a story which still finds its way into the tabloids now and again. Ms. Theron wants it known that there are no dark secrets or strange mysteries surrounding the separation.

“There is this need to sensationalize things,” the Mad Max actress said. “When you leave a relationship there has to be some f–––ing ghosting thing, like literally I still don’t even know what it is.”

After a moment, Theron continued with her final thought on the matter.

“It’s just its own beast. We were in a relationship and then it didn’t work anymore. And we both decided to separate. That’s it.”

What’s Next For The Dior J’Adore’s Ad Campaign? Charlize Theron Isn’t Telling

Ms. Theron has been serving as brand ambassador for Dior’s signature scents since 2004, so, naturally, the model and actress is the fresh face of the brand’s latest offering, J’adore Eau Lumiere. The new ad campaign features Theron in a form fitting sheer and beaded evening gown, looking as close to perfection as always. In a promotional interview for Dior, conducted by photographer Peter Lindbergh, Charlize responded to questions with a light-hearted sarcasm that proves she can be as playful as she can be seductive.

“I must have been 14 when I started,” the actress responded, when asked how long she had been modeling for Dior.

“The perfect martini makes me really happy,” was Charlize response when asked what she adored in life.

The Dior photographer also asked Charlize what would be next for the J’adore woman and, proving she can roll with the best of them, Theron responded in her usual cheeky manner.

“Well, that’s none of your f—ing business.”

Theron joked that Dior wanted her to model for them, just after Monster came out in 2003. She reportedly laughed as she said her portrayal of the less-than-beautiful hooker turned serial killer, Aileen Wuornos, made her a desirable model for the perfume company.

J’adore Eau Lumiere is a blush-tinted fragrance, derived from citrus and floral scents that is currently available from Dior for $114 for a 3.4 ounce bottle.
