Austin Mahone Engaged? Why Becky G Can’t Move On Without Him
Austin Mahone has been pretty open about his relationship with Katya Henry, more so than with his previous relationship with Becky G. Now rumors are swirling that the couple is planning to get married.
Of course, it’s April Fools’ Day so the couple could just be messing with their fans. But the rumor mill claims that Austin Mahone is so smitten with his new girlfriend, Katya Elise Henry, that they could already be engaged. The singer recently shared a photo of the fitness trainer on his Snapchat account, and she’s wearing a ring on that finger.
In another photo from their flight, en route to Japan, fans got another glimpse at her band ring.
But it looks like Katya just loves wearing jewelry. She’s also seen wearing other gold bands on her fingers. She could just be wearing the ring simply because she likes the ring. Or, maybe Austin gave it to her, but that doesn’t necessarily mean they’re engaged.
According to M-Magazine, the pair has been keeping their relationship on the down low for the past few months. Mahone first made the dating rumors swirl when Henry starred in his new music video for “Put it On Me.” The sexy video features the Instagram model half-dressed and grinding on the 19-year-old Mahone as he licks his lips and smiles.

It took the couple a few weeks to show off their blossoming relationship on social media. Ever since the sizzling new video dropped, Austin has been sharing countless photos of the beauty on his Instagram and Snapchat accounts. He even admitted that he rented out a movie theater for just the two of them. The couple also spent the holidays together and recently visited Walt Disney World. To most, it would seem like Mahone is getting pretty serious with Henry lately.
Numerous reports revealed that the cute couple even spent Easter together. The “Mmm Yeah” singer shared a photo of himself with his arms wrapped around Katya. He included the caption: “Happy Easter.”
Some fans weren’t happy, though. They took to his post to remark that they wish he was still dating Becky G.
Even his ex is finding it hard to move on from their relationship. The couple was compared to the likes of Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez until they ended their relationship in August of 2015 due to their busy schedules, according to the Day Herald. Becky said in various interviews that she loved dating Austin because he was cute, loving, and caring. She seemed to love him and what they had together.
“I thought, ‘OMG, I’m living the teenage dream, a pop star dating a pop star.’ Privacy, obviously, was an issue, especially since the blogs seemed to catch on mere moments after their first kiss. ‘He and I had to make a decision,’ she says. ‘We were just like, ‘We’re together. We’re not going to hide it.'”
In an exclusive interview with Latina magazine, she expressed that she was shocked to see that Mahone had moved on fast. But she wishes him well.
“When you let go of it, you’ve got to let go. As tough a pillow as it is to swallow — if he finds happiness in another person, then it just is what it is.”
Since that interview was published, the “Shower” singer has been linked to her share of men, including Cuban entertainer W. Valdes. The R&B singer has also decided to learn from her relationship and move on with grace.
