WWE News: Rikishi Wants Roman Reigns To Turn Heel At ‘WrestleMania 32’

Roman Reigns is set to challenge Triple H for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship at this Sunday’s WrestleMania 32. As of right now, Reigns is the heavy favorite to win that match and walk out of AT&T Stadium as the new WWE Champion, and it’s expected that he’ll be heavily booed in the process. as WWE fans haven’t accepted him as the company’s new conquering hero.

So many people, from WWE fans to WWE legends like “Stone Cold” Steve Austin and Jim Ross, have suggested that the company should turn Reigns heel, and in a year or two, they can turn him back babyface, and the people will love him. Basically, they’re asking WWE to do the same thing with Reigns as they did with The Rock.

Now, one more WWE legend is asking the company to turn Reigns, and that’s Rikishi, who is the former WWE Champ’s uncle.

In an interview with Fox Sports, Rikishi was asked how WWE can save Roman Reigns, and the WWE Hall of Famer simply said that Reigns needs to turn heel.

“I feel that, in due time, you’re gonna see Roman Reigns become Roman Empire. Let’s take it back to John Cena and Rock back in the day, when people felt like they was just shoved down their throats. Eventually, they earned the people’s respect, and the next thing you know, they were just loved by the whole world. To me, you don’t want to go against the WWE Universe. You never want to do that. To me, what works is to go with the flow. If you hate me so much like that, had it been me, I’d tell Vince, switch me heel right now. Let’s give it to these people. I’d be the baddest frickin’ heel that they’d ever see. And in due time, you would hate me so much, when I do turn babyface, guess what, you’d love me. It’s a very simple fix.”

Ring Rust Radio asked Roman Reigns about a future match with The Rock, and his answer suggested that he may lay out “The Great One” this Sunday night and officially turn heel.

The official quote from Reigns was, “if (The Rock) comes out there, I might be on high alert, and he might get it, too.” There are a couple of ways to take that, but most are thinking that Reigns is setting up for a heel turn after he wins the WWE World Heavyweight Championship for the third time.

Reigns also said in the interview that he and The Rock haven’t talked much about having a match with one another, but a Reigns vs. Rock match does seem like a no-brainer, especially at next year’s WrestleMania 33, which will be taking place in “The People’s Champ’s” home-state of Florida.

As of this writing, The Rock’s WrestleMania 32 role is still unknown. But it does look like he’ll be involved in a long talking segment, much like he was at the beginning of both WrestleMania 27 and WrestleMania 30.

Jim Ross has suggested that The Rock, John Cena, and “Stone Cold” Steve Austin should open the show in the middle of the ring, much like Austin, Rock, and Hogan did back at WrestleMania 30.

It’s been expected for quite some time now that The Rock will be ringside for Roman Reigns vs. Triple H, so even if he does open the show with a long talking segment, he may be back out at ringside later in the show, which could be a sign that a Roman Reigns heel turn is coming at the end of the match.
