D’Angelo Russell Ignored By Los Angeles Lakers Teammates, Booed By Fans After Nick Young Tape Leaked — Is An NBA Trade Imminent?

D’Angelo Russell had it all. The Los Angeles Lakers rookie is just 20 years old and was looking to take over the team with the looming retirement of Kobe Bryant. Now Russell is so hated by his own team and Lakers fans too that it wouldn’t be shocking if he was traded to somewhere, anywhere else.

Russell has already apologized for the leaked video according to ESPN, in which his teammate Nick Young admits to cheating on Iggy Azalea with a teenage girl. The damage is done though and Russell is currently the most hated player on the Lakers team. There are even rumors that morale is so low and his teammates have lost so much trust, that D’Angelo Russell might get traded to another team or released altogether.

D’Angelo Russell is known as being a prankster on the Lakers team. The young point guard is constantly messing with his teammates but he definitely went too far. The video in question was undoubtedly shot by D’Angelo and shows Nick Young with his back to the camera while he watches TV. In the video, Nick is seen discussing an encounter he had with a 19-year-old girl who is not his fiancée, Iggy Azalea. Then D’Angelo asks about Amber Rose, and Nick Young responds that she knows Iggy, therefore he does not mess with her. At the end of the video, D’Angelo says “I’m glad you told my video all that.” Young never seems to even understand that he was being taped and responded to his teammate by saying, “Huh?”

It’s still not clear just how the Nick Young cheating video was leaked, but it ended up on the Fameolous website last week. Immediately, D’Angelo Russell started trending and Iggy Azalea took a look at the damaging video. The Australian rapper responded via Twitter to thank Russell for taping Young’s confession. She has also since said that she’ll never marry a cheater. Does that mean the Iggy Azalea and Nick Young engagement is off? Things are certainly looking bad for their relationship.

TMZ reported that Nick is scrambling, trying to save his relationship with Azalea, and that the two are in a really bad place. He’s certainly not happy and not speaking with his Los Angeles Lakers teammate D’Angelo Russell. As a matter of fact, the whole Lakers team is upset with their point guard because of the tape and the huge breach of trust that he is currently responsible for.

At a recent Lakers breakfast, no one on the team would even sit and eat with D’Angelo Russell. They want nothing to do with him. When Russell tried to sit by Lou Williams in the locker room, his fellow Lakers teammate reportedly got up and walked away. There has been talk that Williams might even be freezing Russell out on the basketball court, a move that many were afraid would happen after the rookie point guard broke a cardinal rule of teammate respect and trust when that video of Nick Young admitting to cheating on Iggy Azalea was made public, whether he sent it to Fameolous himself or not.

D’Angelo Russell’s recovery from the leaked Nick Young tape is still up in the air. There are rumors that the Lakers may trade him or even cut him in order to increase team morale, which is at an all-time low right now. Even Kobe Bryant has given advice as to how the young point guard might try to recover, but in the end, it all really comes down to whether or not Young is willing to forgive him.
