Ted Cruz Jokes About Hitting Donald Trump With His Car

In an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live last night, Ted Cruz joked about rival Donald Trump, stating that he’s not sure he wouldn’t run him down if he saw Trump on the street.

“If I were in my car getting ready to reverse and saw Donald in the backup camera, I’m not confident which pedal I’d push,” Ted Cruz joked last night on Jimmy Kimmel Live.

Cruz and Trump have been at each other’s throats for weeks now, first over their policy positions and later over their wives, and this past week they’ve been fighting over a tabloid story that Cruz claims Trump planted in an effort to discredit him. Most recently though, Ted Cruz came out against Donald Trump after the billionaire made some comments about his thoughts on abortion.

As the Inquisitr reported previously, last night, Donald Trump tripped himself up when he was asked by MSNBC’s Chris Matthews whether or not he supported punishments for women who have abortions. First, Trump said yes, he supported punishing women who seek abortion procedures, then in the span of three hours, Donald Trump reversed and clarified his position claiming that he was backed into a corner by MSNBC host Chris Matthews and that he “misspoke” on the issue of abortion.

Rivals Ted Cruz and John Kasich came out against Trump after the comment, seizing the opportunity to win some points among Republican women by condemning Donald Trump’s statements. Cruz claimed Trump isn’t really “pro-life,” so he can’t be expected to “understand a pro-life position.” It’s a line Ted Cruz has used before, claiming that Donald Trump’s current position on abortion is motivated by politics, rather than his own moral stance on the issue.

Last night Ted Cruz addressed the issue, and made it clear that the feud between him and Trump isn’t going anywhere. Cruz called Trump’s comment “wrong” and a demonstration of “how little” Trump has considered any of his political positions — which Cruz again alleged were inspired less by any kind of moral stance than by political expediency.

“That comment was wrong and it really it’s the latest demonstration of how little Donald has thought about any of the serious issues facing this country,” Ted Cruz said last night on Jimmy Kimmel Live.

Ted Cruz appeared on Jimmy Kimmel Live in his first late night TV appearance since the new year, and during the interview Cruz made a few jokes, but mostly stayed on message – Trump’s presidency “would be a disaster,” claimed Cruz. The Texas senator didn’t spare any chance to attack his bitter rival, spending much of the interview discussing Donald Trump and their feud.

“I am pro-life. Being pro-life means standing and defending the unborn. But it also means defending moms, defending women, and defending the incredible gift women have to bring life into the world. And Donald’s comments, they were unfortunate, they were wrong, and I strongly disagree with them,” said Ted Cruz during an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live last night.

Later, Cruz let his hair down, discussing personal experiences like his first concert, which he characterizes as the “tamest concert on earth” – he went to see Men At Work perform live. Later, Cruz described an experience he had while seeing Pink Floyd in concert.

“Two or three seats down from me was a police officer smoking a joint. Holding a roach clip, smoking a joint. I have to admit, I was 17 at the time, he was in uniform, an officer in uniform. I shook my head and said ‘Well, it’s Floyd,’ ” relates Ted Cruz during an interview on Jimmy Kimmel Live last night, reports NBC News.
