Sharon Osbourne Defends Elton John After Icon Accused Of Sexual Harassment

Sharon Osbourne has come to the defense of singer Elton John after the star was accused of sexual harassment. Osbourne has labeled the super star’s accuser as “nut job.”

The 63-year-old spoke out in support of her friend and even went so far as to note that Elton’s accuser, Jeffrey Wenninger, is not even the “Rocket Man” singer’s “type.” While on The Talk, Osbourne shared that she has been around the security guard who has brought accusations against John, although she does not know much about him.

“I have met this person on several occasions, I don’t know him, but I have met him. What do I know? But he used to stare a lot…a bit of a nut job I suppose. But listen that is just my opinion. And I must say really? You are not his type dear…have you looked in the mirror. He can get much better than you? I think it is another case of somebody suing somebody who is a very wealthy public figure. It is just money, money, money.”

Osbourne then made the point of questioning why the accuser waited an entire two years before coming forward with the complaint against Elton John. The talk show personality also then noted that being a police officer, the man shouldn’t have had any problem handling the situation if it was a legitimately uncomfortable circumstance.

“And this guy is a policeman and he was employed as a security guard and I am sure if this had happened, in his own mind it happened, he would have had no trouble pushing Sir Elton John away…I mean he is a cop, he is a security guard..”

Osbourne spoke up on the issue of Elton’s suit when the topic of Stefano Gabbana was raised. The fashion designer and John have a rocky history, and Stefano did not help matters by taunting the singer after claims were made by Wenninger.

The accuser is suing the musical icon for sexual harassment and battery due to three apparent incidents that the accuser said occurred when he was employed by the singer in 2014. Elton insists that the former employer is simply attempting to get money out of him. Wenninger stopped working for John in September of 2014. BBC shares about the brief employment and why it came to an end.

“The policeman worked for Sir Elton while off-duty through a private company that he has also launched legal action against, alleging he was improperly removed from working with the star in September 2014.”

The attorney for Elton John, Orin Snyder, spoke on the case in a statement, as Bang Showbiz relays.

“This baseless lawsuit is brought by a disgruntled former security officer seeking to extract an undeserved payment. These claims are patently untrue and contradicted by numerous previous statements made by this plaintiff. We will not give into his latest abuse of the legal system.”

Reports of the alleged incident, as told by the accuser, claim that Elton touched him inappropriately on his private parts and his behind while the two were in a car together. The former employee also claims that the musical talent once told him to “get your todger out [and] say hello to Uncle Elton.”

Wenninger also alleged that in another incident, John twisted his nipples and said “you gorgeous thing, you.” As aforementioned, Wenninger has also taken legal action against the private company he was employed by when in service to John. The Mirror relays more details on the issue.

“He claims he was let go from Elton’s security detail because he had reported a fellow LAPD officer for an alleged overtime theft. That cop was his superior at J Bondi and according to court papers quickly left the police after the allegations were made.”
