Singer Gary Barlow And Wife Suffer Loss Of Baby Poppy

Singer Gary Barlow and his wife Dawn are suffering heartbreak after their baby daughter was delivered stillborn. The Take That singer and his wife released a statement of mourning on behalf of himself and his wife after the loss of their baby daughter, Poppy.

Barlow, who was rumored to appear with Take That at the Olympics closing ceremony, released a statement on Monday about the couple’s loss, according to E! Online, saying:

“Dawn and I are devastated to announce that we’ve lost our baby. Poppy Barlow was delivered stillborn on Aug. 4 in London. Our focus now is giving her a beautiful funeral and loving our three children with all our hearts. We’d ask at this painful time that our privacy be respected.”

Barlow, 41, and his wife Dawn, 42, have been married for 12 years and have three other children Daniel, 11, Emily, 10, and Daisy, 3. The singer originally announced the pregnancy to fans in February, revealing in April that their new addition would be a little girl, reports The Daily Mail.

Gary Barlow posted on Twitter to announce the pregnancy, saying “My wife and I are expecting our 4th child #Anotherowngoal.” After congratulations came flooding in, the Take That singer tweeted:

“What a lovely bunch you are. Thank you for all your kind messages. We are a very excited family.”

The news of the Barlows stillborn baby comes only two weeks after Mark Owen, one of Gary’s bandmates, welcomed his third child into the world with his wife Emma. Another bandmate, Robbie Williams, and his wife Ayda are also expecting a child together, announcing the news in May.

The star’s friends took to Twitter to express their condolences to Gary Barlow and his wife Dawn. Andrew Lloyd Webber wrote:

“Dearest Dawn Gary, Madeleine I are devastated about news of Poppy. Our thoughts prayers are with you and your family.”
