‘Arrow’ Season 4 Spoilers — Curtis Becoming Mr. Terrific? Plus No More Felicity For Team Arrow [Trailer]

In last week’s episode of Arrow, fans witnessed Oliver Queen (Stephen Amell) and Felicity Smoak (Emily Bett Rickards) get married. But there was a catch — the wedding wasn’t real. No matter how moving Oliver’s vows were, the couple was simply trying to lure Cupid, who was on a love-hating newlywed murder binge. The plan worked, but afterwards, Felicity broke it off with Oliver completely, even leaving Team Arrow. But that doesn’t mean the love of Oliver’s life is completely out of danger.

In the upcoming Episode 17, titled Beacon of Hope, Felicity finds herself targeted as a result of what Damien Darhk did to her. Design & Trend has the official synopsis courtesy of the CW.

“Brie Larvan (guest star Emily Kinney) breaks out of jail and turns up at Palmer Tech threatening to kill everyone unless she gets the biochip that is implanted in Felicity’s spine. When Oliver realizes that Felicity, Thea (Willa Holland) and Donna (guest star Charlotte Ross) are trapped in Palmer Tech with everyone else, he looks to a surprising ally to help Team Arrow save the day.”

In a promo that was released, fans see that this time Oliver’s quest to save the people closest to him isn’t going to be easy, or pain-free. In the promo, Oliver gets stung by one of Larvan’s updated insect robots, which has some terribly painful side effects. His physical pain will be matched by the pain of watching the ones he loves fall into Larvan’s path.

But will Oliver’s attempt to rescue the woman he still loves be enough to win her back? Olicity fans sure hope so, though that would be a very quick turnaround for Felicity since she made it clear she cannot be with Oliver or Team Arrow.

Meanwhile, Curtis Holt (Echo Kellum) will be making another appearance this season in Episode 17. According to the Bit Bag, Holt will discover that the insect Oliver was stung with has made its way into Oliver’s body and is now duplicating. Since Holt is a tech genius, much like Felicity, some have jumped to the conclusion that he will be replacing her on team Arrow.

Since Holt’s introduction on Arrow, Holt has been appearing more and more, mainly to help Felicity and Team Arrow with advanced technologies. The most recent, and what Episode 17 is based around, is the chip that Holt developed to help Felicity walk again.

And as IBTimes notes, Curtis Holt is also known as Mr. Terrific in the comics. Mr. Terrific is a genius-level Olympic athlete that’s highly trained in martial arts and uses his skills to fight crime. Holt’s character on the show has those same qualities, yet hasn’t suited up in any superhero mask of his own.

When Kellum landed the role of Curtis, he spoke with the Wrap and revealed that his character would, in fact, eventually become his comic book alter ego.

“In the comic books, the character was motivated to become Mr. Terrific through tragedy. I can’t really say how Curtis becomes Mr. Terrific, but I think it will be some type of event that happens that pushes him to want to do more for the city and in general.”

So fans, tell us what you think? Will Olivier’s heroism win back Felicity’s broken heart? And what about Curtis Holt? Is the anticipated Mr. Terrific going to replace Felicity on Team Arrow? If he does, then how long is it going to take for fans to see Olicity back together? Let us know what you think in the comments, and check out the trailer for the next all-new episode below.

Arrow’s Episode 17, Beacon of Hope, premieres March 30 on The CW.
