Blake Shelton Slams Tabloid Tale Of Boozy Stripper Party Amid ‘Drunk Tweets,’ Goes ‘Overboard’ For Gwen Stefani

Blake Shelton is taking on a tabloid, In Touch, which published claims ranging from partying with strippers to drinking so much booze that he was headed for rehab. In response, the tabloid’s publishing company, Bauer Publishing, cites tweets and quotes from Blake that allegedly prove Shelton was proud of his reputation for being a heavy drinker, according to the Hollywood Reporter.

The In Touch article described Blake as hitting “rock bottom” following a boozy bender in Cancun. Shelton provided a sworn declaration showing that the story was false, but the publishing company claims that it can document with photos that he’s actually the one lying.

Moreover, Bauer alleges that the repeated tweets from Blake and comments about gulping down alcohol show that he did maintain a history of drinking a lot of booze. But Shelton went down the allegations in the story to deny them one by one.

“Contrary to the Rehab Story, I was not in Cancun for a bachelor party,” insisted Blake. “Instead, I was with my tour manager Kevin Canady and a married couple who are friends of ours.”

In addition, Shelton denied that he went to a bachelor party or attended any type of bash at which strippers were present, as well as contradicting the report that he was at a strip club. Blake also slammed reports of boozing non-stop and hooking up with various women.

“I did not attend a bachelor party, party with strippers, or go to a strip club during my time in Cancun. There were no strippers at Coco Bongo… I did not do tequila shots ‘non-stop’ or walk through my hotel lobby carrying two bottles of tequila. I did not kiss any women while I was in Cancun. There was no ‘alcohol-fueled rendezvous,’ nor did I hook up with any women, let alone multiple women.”

While Shelton and his lawyer challenge that story as fiction, the publisher claims it has photographs showing otherwise.

“Indisputable photographic evidence places Shelton at that very hotel and with the blonde guest described in the Article,” alleged the publisher.

But Blake and his side challenge that photo, which is just Shelton posing with a fan, and they are seeking verification from sources, such as a hotel clerk, to support the claims made in that tabloid story.

However, the publisher continues to point to the tweets by Blake which painted him as a heavy drinker, noted the Wrap.

“Shelton cannot show that an Article about his excessive drinking ‘tarnished both his personal and business reputation’ because his personal and professional reputation is synonymous with drunkenness,” claims the publisher.

Blake admitted that he does joke about drinking, but insists that it’s just one facet of his “shtick with my fans.”

Among the examples cited by the publisher as evidence that Shelton is a heavy drinker and admits it are “signature drunk tweets” in which he boasted about boozing, pointed out TMZ.

“Woah!! Almost 11:00… Can’t believe I’m up so early… This calls for a drink,” was used as a sample.

Therefore, In Touch insists that it has evidence that Blake has deliberately sought to create a public image for himself as a “hard drinking country boy.”

While Shelton deals with that court case, he’s also coping with the shakeup on The Voice. As the Inquisitr reported, although many fans had assumed that Gwen Stefani would return to the coach chair by her boyfriend next season, neither Gwen nor Christina Aguilera will coach. Instead, Miley Cyrus and Alicia Keys will fill those big red chairs during Season 11 of The Voice, competing against Stefani’s boyfriend as well as Adam Levine.

This season, Gwen has stayed close by mentoring Team Blake. But one report claims that the reason Stefani will not return is because her boyfriend is feeling smothered and wants The Voice to be a “Gwen free” zone, noted Ace Showbiz.

“If he really wanted Gwen Stefani to have a chair — she would have,” claimed that report.

However, it is not true, and the couple remains in love, according to a source cited by Ace.

Shelton is such a fan of Gwen that when Stefani achieved her first solo album, he admitted that he went overboard in buying up copies, pointed out ET.

When the country music superstar learned that Gwen had soared to number one on iTunes with her new album, he tweeted his excitement and praise for Stefani.

“I am freaking out!!! Congratulations @gwenstefani!!!!”

As for purchasing albums himself? The 39-year-old was so thrilled that he couldn’t stop himself.

In return, Stefani proclaimed her boyfriend as her muse.
