‘The Walking Dead’ Spoilers: Rick Dying In Season 6 Finale, Andrew Lincoln Wants Off The Show?

The Walking Dead Season 6 finale is only days away, and fans are dying to know which character will lose their life at the hands of Negan and his scary baseball bat, Lucille. Rumors are swirling that Rick Grimes, the main character of the series, could actually be the one to die.

According to the International Business Times, when fans watch the Season 6 finale of The Walking Dead on Sunday, they could be very shocked about what they’ll see. Spoilers for the final episode of the season have already informed us that Negan will show up, and that he’ll kill a beloved member of our favorite group of survivors, but could that person be Rick himself?

Rumors suggest that actor Andrew Lincoln, who plays Rick on The Walking Dead, may actually want to leave the hit AMC series. Reports reveal that Lincoln is unhappy about dragging his family back and forth from London, where he’s from, and Georgia, where the show films. The source also adds that Andrew has been planning his exit for some time now due to the conflict with his family.

If Andrew Lincoln were to leave The Walking Dead the character of Rick could be recast, but fans would likely overwhelmingly reject a new actor in the beloved role, which could lead to the show completely tanking. However, if Rick were to die, the show could continue without him, although that would highly differentiate from the comic series, where Rick Grimes is still alive and well, although he only has one hand! If that were true it could be possible that Negan would kill Rick in the Season 6 finale, which would be a shocking turn of events that no one would see coming!

However shocking it may be to see Rick eventually die on The Walking Dead, it doesn’t seem likely it will be happening any time soon. A representative for Andrew Lincoln spoke out and put an end to the rumors that Andrew wanted to leave the show by claiming the reports of his departure have no truth to them.

While The Walking Dead without Rick Grimes would be totally weird, it actually almost happened. The comic book’s creator, Robert Kirkman, says he nearly killed off Rick’s character very early on and centered the story around Carl.

“I honestly considered killing Rick in issue 6 and making the comic about Carl having to grow up with this guy he saw kill his father. But in the end, I decided against it. That was never the plan, but it was a thought that popped up that I entertained while I was writing issue 6.”

Meanwhile, as the Season 6 finale nears everyone is talking and giving their thoughts on who may be killed by Negan’s brutal bat. While Rick isn’t likely to be the one to go, someone is going to die, and many fans are on edge. Many believe that Glenn, who gets Negan’s bat in the comic series, will be the one to be killed, while others think it could shocking by killing Norman Reedus’ character, Daryl Dixon, who is arguably the most popular character on the series.

Other Walking Dead fans are hoping that someone who isn’t an original character from Season 1 could be the one to get Negan’s brutal punishment such as Abraham, but unfortunately there is an ominous feeling that yet another original character is about to leave us and go to other side with Lori, Shane, Andrea, T-Dogg, and Dale.

Find out how it all goes down when The Walking Dead Season 6 finale airs Sunday, April 3, at 9 p.m. on AMC.
