Ashton Kutcher Weighs In On The Easter Bunny Lie, And Celebrating Easter With Daughter Wyatt

Now that Ashton Kutcher and Mila Kunis are parents, they’re still ironing out the details on whether or not they’re going to keep some traditions. With Easter being the last holiday celebrated by Christians, Kutcher had that particular holiday in mind while discussing some roadblocks in parenting.

Kutcher and wife Kunis, who’s Jewish, have decided that, for now, they’re going to hold off on telling their 17-month-old daughter, Wyatt, about the Easter bunny. Kutcher explained to Jimmy Kimmel that the concept of a “bunny laying eggs” would be too much for his daughter. Of course, Ashton also brought up the fact that logically this doesn’t really make sense, as real bunnies don’t lay eggs.

“We actually were debating whether or not we were going to explain to her that a bunny was laying eggs.”

Kutcher explained that he and Mila think that the fun of Easter doesn’t really have anything to do with why people celebrate either — at least on a religious level, but they seem to be okay with telling Wyatt about Santa Claus when the time comes.

“So, we had a legitimate conversation as to whether or not we’re going to go down that path. Like, we think we’re going Santa Claus, but we don’t know about the bunny. It’s tough because it’s like, ‘Why is a bunny laying eggs? Mommy, does a bunny lay eggs?’ … ‘No, but the Easter Bunny does.’ And then it becomes a whole thing … and what does that have to do with Jesus coming back from the dead?!”

Another Easter question that plagued the Kutchers was whether or not they should give their daughter candy. According to Ashton, Wyatt isn’t quite ready yet for candy. That said, it doesn’t sound like he’s ready for Wyatt to experience the joys of a sugar rush, either.

“It’s there. We just don’t give it to her … I’m not ready for that. I’m not ready for that. I was eating Cinnamon Toast Crunch this morning and [Wyatt] was trying to hijack my Cinnamon Toast Crunch!”

Even though Mila and Ashton didn’t give Wyatt candy this year, that doesn’t mean they deprived their daughter of all the Easter traditions. The two decided to give Wyatt an Easter basket and put a twist on the whole thing.

“We didn’t want to put candy in [her Easter basket] because she’s 1-and-a-half and she’s not quite ready. We’re not quite ready for her to be ready for candy, so we did Cheerios and raisins. She loved the raisins! She was, like, going ape for the raisins.”

The last time we heard Ashton Kutcher talk about his daughter Wyatt, he was on the Ellen DeGeneres Show, where he caught the host up to all the new things his daughter was doing. During his last appearance, Wyatt was a newborn, so they had a lot of catching up to do.

According to Ashton, Mila taught Wyatt how to get down a few dance steps — specifically the popular whip and nae nae dance.

“She likes to whip and nae nae, too. She does! I think she thinks she’s doing it … because it’s whippin’ and nae-nae-ing. Mama taught her that,” said Kutcher.

While Ashton Kutcher has great stories to tell about her daughter Wyatt, he’s made sure to not share his personal life on social media. Kutcher opened up recently that having a daughter completely changed his stance on sharing his life with his followers.

“[Having a child] takes whatever table you’re sitting at, flips it upside down and switches all your priorities around. It’s unexplainable. I have a new number-one priority. Only parents understand the absolute awe of parenthood.”

The only photo he has posted of his daughter is to promote Thorn, his foundation he started with ex-wife Demi Moore, to put a stop to child exploitation.
