Ariana Madix Admits She Probably Won’t Be Best Friends With Scheana Shay Anymore
Ariana Madix was ready to make her case on last night’s Vanderpump Rules reunion special, as she felt betrayed by Scheana Shay. During the season, Scheana texted Ariana’s mother and completely bashed Tom Sandoval and their relationship. Madix was hurt because she thought that Scheana would just tell her if she had concerns rather than going to her mother to discuss her relationship with Tom. According to a new Bravo report, Ariana Madix is now revealing why she decided to forgive Scheana about the text messages.
“Yes, I do. I had to make sure that everything was clear and out in the open. I didn’t plan on busting out my phone in that moment, but I had been reading through everything knowing it would be brought up soon (and I had been sitting on my phone the entire day to play on it during breaks). Impulsively, I whipped it out when I felt the truth wasn’t being told. Now that it has, it’s a dead issue,” Ariana Madix reveals, adding that she probably won’t go back to being best friends with Scheana, adding, “Probably not, but that’s ok. The future is always better than the past. When Scheana and I were at our closest, I was at a personal low. I’d rather everything be on a higher level.”
Of course, Madix and Shay were best friends when they started filming the show, but they grew apart throughout the season, especially when it came to Scheana’s continuous friendship with Kristen Doute. Kristen continued to haunt Tom after their breakup and she was a constant nuisance during the first few months of Tom and Ariana Madix’s relationship. And since Shay continued to be friends with Kristen, Ariana was confused.
But during the Vanderpump Rules reunion, Ariana Madix called the SUR environment a toxic environment. Her co-stars didn’t really understand her comments, but she was very set on her reasoning. As she explains to Bravo, Madix isn’t keen on being in the environment and this could be why she has been distancing herself from the group. Earlier this season, she did say that she only hung out with the girls from the show because she tried to make her boyfriend happy. Madix was faking being happy in the group.
“The poisonous gossip that occurs regularly within this group of people will suck your soul dry if you let it. Gossip and feeding off of other people’s shortcomings is an addictive thing, but it makes me feel horrible about the life I’m living. I’ve been a witness to it, a participant in it, and a victim of it. It feels like an endless cycle of hurting and forgiving each other,” Ariana Madix reveals about her comment that the SUR environment is a toxic one.
Madix may only be filming the show because of Tom Sandoval. If the two weren’t together, it is very possible that she wouldn’t be on the show. She doesn’t seem desperate to be in the spotlight and she doesn’t start any drama on the show. And maybe that’s because she’s setting boundaries for herself, her life, and for Vanderpump Rules.
“I think setting boundaries for yourself is a good thing and I’m sticking to those because I don’t want to lose myself, regardless of whether or not it makes other people happy. If I’m happy and Tom and my family are happy, then I’m good,” Ariana Madix reveals. It sounds like you will only see certain things from Ariana on the show — and it may not be a reconciliation with Scheana.
