Miley Cyrus received an 3.5-carat engagement ring from her fiance, Liam Hemsworth. Although Miley Cyrus said she had no input on the selection of her massive diamond engagement ring, she readily admits she is quite pleased with her new piece of wedding jewelry, Celebuzz reports.
Miley Cyrus,19, saw the Neil Lane ring in the online September issue of Marie Claire and thought it was really pretty but did not ask Liam Hemsworth for a specific engagement ring.
“I just love that it’s old and has a story. And I’m happy because it doesn’t look like anything else I wear,” according to Marie Claire Miley Cyrus interview excerpts republished by Celebuzz.
The Neil Lane engagement ring now adorning Miley Cyrus’ finger was reportedly created in a bohemian style. The 3.5 carat ring boasts a diamond cut design and is housed in an 18-karat gold setting. The main diamond in Miley Cyrus’ engagement ring dates back to the late 1800s. The diamond remains in its original hand-cut state.
“Hunger Games” star Liam Hemworth told People magazine that he was searching for an engagement ring which was “really beautiful and romantic.” Judging from the smile on Miley Cyrus’ face in the photos of the singer waring the engagement ring with her new platinum blonde hair, Hemsworth achieved his goal.
“Life is too short not to be with the person you want to be with,” Miley Cyrus also stated during the Marie Claire interview.
A specific wedding date for Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth is not yet set. The young actress appears to be happy wearing the 3.5-carat engagement ring and spending time with the love of her life for now and notes the “piece of paper” can wait.
