Gwen Stefani & Blake Shelton Flirt On ‘The Voice,’ But She Won’t Be Seen During Season 11

Gwen Stefani and Blake Shelton can’t get enough of one another on The Voice Season 10. After Gwen Stefani returned to the show as a mentor for her boyfriend’s team, Team Shelton, their PDA tour continued.

Gwen Stefani and Shelton announced they were dating in November, 2015, amid filming on The Voice Season 9, which immediately led to rumors regarding Gwen Stefani’s possible coaching return. But while Gwen Stefani was not asked to come back for Season 10 as coach, she was asked back, and for the past few weeks, she has been filming her new role with her main squeeze.

On March 28, Hollywood Life shared a new clip from The Voice Season 10, which featured Gwen Stefani and Shelton getting flirty, as they’ve been known to do on the NBC singing competition series.

In the clip, Shelton is seen calling his girlfriend, Gwen Stefani, a “rock n’ roll goddess diva,” as well as a “legend.”

“Just awesome … Bada– … Just queen … Stud,” Shelton continued of Gwen Stefani, who begins to blush right away.

“Help me!” Gwen Stefani responds.

Gwen Stefani and Shelton have been making a habit of getting flirty on The Voice, and just last week, during the show’s March 21 episode, Shelton called Gwen Stefani “hot,” and around the same time, Gwen Stefani labeled her man a “super babe.”

While Gwen Stefani and Shelton’s romance has been heartwarming to watch for most fans, it will soon come to an end, as Gwen Stefani is set to take a step back from the series during the upcoming 11th season. Although she and Christina Aguilera have been alternating coaching roles for the past several seasons, Miley Cyrus was recently announced as Aguilera’s season 11 replacement, meaning Gwen Stefani would not be seen in a coaching role as was previously expected.

On March 25, TMZ reported news of Cyrus’ new role on The Voice Season 11, confirming she would be taking her seat next to returning coaches Adam Levine and Blake Shelton, as well as new coach Alicia Keys.

While Gwen Stefani will not be seen in a coaching role during The Voice Season 11, the Wrap revealed that she would likely return to the show next spring, which is when The Voice Season 12 will debut. However, at this point, nothing in regard to Season 12 has been confirmed by the network.

As for why NBC made the change, a source spoke out, revealing the network wants to stay at the top of their game as their main competitor, American Idol, says goodbye after 15 seasons on the air.

“Now that The Voice is the only game in town they needed to ruffle up things so people will still be talking about the show. They wanted a different edge and fan base and that is exactly what Miley will bring,” a source told Hollywood Life on March 25.

As for Gwen Stefani’s possible return, the source added that “everyone” will be coming back to the show eventually.

“Everyone will be back eventually, including [Gwen Stefani]. They just have to adapt to make things interesting every season,” the insider added.

Gwen Stefani has yet to comment on the news of Miley Cyrus’ coaching addition, and Shelton has remained silent as well.
