'General Hospital' Spoilers: Sean Blakemore Returns As Sean Butler Next Week--Here's What We Know So Far

General Hospital spoilers tease that Sean Blakemore is headed back to Port Charles on April 4. Sean Butler hasn't been seen for quite some time, so his appearance will be a rare treat for the GH fans. Soap Opera Digest revealed that Sean Butler will make a one-day appearance next Monday. ABC has been kept their lips sealed about his appearance, so the fans can expect his guest spot to reveal some pretty juicy tidbits.

We all know that Sean is sitting in a jail cell in Pentonville for shooting Hayden Barnes (Rebecca Budig). Of course, we all know that he is innocent of the crime, because it was Nikolas Cassadine (Tyler Christopher) who was behind the incident. It is likely that his one-day appearance will be someone from Port Charles coming to see him in prison. Who could want to see Sean, and is it possible that he will be released from prison soon?

General Hospital spoilers have indicated that Hayden will blackmail her husband for the shot that nearly took her life. Sean is sitting in jail for pleading guilty to the crime, and it looks like he may play a small part in her drive to blackmail Nik. Is it possible that Hayden (or err Rachel Berlin) wants Sean to be released, since she has evidence that it was Nik that shot her? Will Hayden finally go through with her blackmail scheme with Nikolas and tell him to figure out a way for Sean to be released from prison?

The spoilers have been buzzing lately that one General Hospital regular will be sprung from jail soon, and could become part of a major storyline. Could that series regular be none other than Sean Blackmore? It is looking like a definite possibility, considering the May sweeps spoilers all indicate Hayden's storyline being one of the biggest scoops of the month.

Soap Opera Spy revealed that if the truth comes out about Hayden's shooting, then Sean could be a free man--although it is a long shot, at this point. Blakemore has been a busy bee booking primetime roles, left and right. He just wrapped up his stint on Devious Maids and has appeared on CSI: Cyber as well. Is it possible that Blakemore may not want to come back to General Hospital full-time?

What we know so far is that Sean will appear in one episode, and it is likely someone coming to see him pump him for more information about Hayden's shooting. General Hospital spoilers indicate that Sam Morgan (Kelly Monaco) and Jason Morgan (Billy Miller) will launch an investigation into the shooting. It seems likely they will see him in prison to talk with him. It makes perfect sense, being that he was the one who plead guilty to the crime.

Sean Blakemore received a Daytime Emmy Award nomination for Best Supporting Actor for his work on General Hospital. Many GH fans hope that in time, Sean will return to the soap opera. So far since his departure last year, he has only appeared on the show for one-day appearances, and those guest spots are few and far between.
