Kim Richards To Be A Grandma As Daughter Brooke Wiederhorn Announces She’s Pregnant

Kim Richards is about to be a grandmother. According to Us Weekly, the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star will welcome her first grandchild later this year. That’s right — Kim’s oldest daughter, Brooke Wiederhorn, has announced that she is expecting a baby.

Over the weekend, Kim’s daughter Brooke shared an Easter-themed Instagram pic that featured an Easter basket filled with blue baby clothes and toys with the caption, “Can’t wait to meet our baby boy!”

Eagle-eyed fans may have had an inkling that Kim’s daughter Brooke, who tied the knot with Thayer Wiederhorn in Mexico last spring, could be expecting a baby. A little over a month ago, Kim Richards posted a throwback pic of herself with a baby Brooke and wrote that her daughter exceeded her expectations as a mother.

Kim also wrote, “Now it’s your turn.”

The news of Kim Richards’ impending grandma status comes on the heels of a rollercoaster of a year that includes two arrests for the reality star, rehab, and the death of Brooke’s father, Kim’s beloved ex-husband and best friend Monty Brinson. In an interview with People, Kim said she plans to stay sober for the sake of her four children, Brooke, 30, Whitney, 26, Chad, 24, and Kimberly, 20, as well as her future grandchildren.

“I’ve made mistakes, but I keep trying. I’ve never done anything intentionally to hurt my children. And I hope, for their sake and for the sake of one day my beautiful grandchildren who will come, that this is it.”

Brooke even spoke about her mom Kim’s arrests, telling People that she was actually happy that her mom hit rock bottom when she did.

“I’m glad it happened when it did. It got her strong for when [my father, Monty] did pass away. Maybe if it hadn’t happened, things would have gotten really bad. But she went through rehab and she got stronger than ever.”

And now with her first grandchild on the way, Kim will likely be more motivated than ever to stay on track with her sobriety. While it may be challenging to take on grandparenting duties without Monty by her side, Kim will surely be a doting grandmother to their first grandchild.

And Kim already seems to be back on track when it comes to her family, because the news of Brook Wiederhorn’s pregnancy was part of a family-filled Easter weekend for the former child star and Real Housewives of Beverly Hills alum.

In addition to her daughter Brooke’s bunny basket photo, Kim Richards also shared an Easter Instagram snap that showed her standing with the Easter Bunny and her kids, minus youngest daughter Kimberly Jackson. Kim and Kimberly recently sat down with a celeb therapist on Lifetime’s Mother/Daughter Experiment: Celebrity Edition, where they worked on their strained relationship after Kim’s very public meltdowns last year.

According to E! News, Kim spent the holiday weekend with her sisters Kyle Richards and Kathy Hilton in Palm Springs, and the whole family-filled weekend was documented on Kyle’s Snapchat. The Richards sisters and their extended family had dinner at the La Quinta Resort Saturday night, and Kim’s niece Paris Hilton and family friend Faye Resnick were also spotted celebrating with them. The Richards clan even had an Easter egg hunt by a golf course. With Kim’s grandma news now out, it looks like it was definitely a happy Easter for the famous family.
