WWE News: The Miz Confirms ‘Wrestlemania 32’ Status Amid Injury Reports

Amid speculation that WWE superstar The Miz suffered a knee injury at a live event in Richmond, Virginia, on Saturday, the former WWE champion is denying all reports claiming he is injured.

Miz defeated Jack Swagger at the live event on Saturday via pinfall but was the victim of a Patriot Lock after the match. A correspondent for Wrestling Inc noted that Miz appeared to ” legitimately hurt himself” and was “limping badly.” Another Twitter user tweeted that “Miz broke something.”

However, Miz took to Twitter on Sunday and attributed the reports to his acting ability.

Miz is scheduled to be a part of the seven-way Intercontinental championship ladder match at Wrestlemania 32 in exactly one week. He will face Dolph Ziggler, Kevin Owens, Sami Zayn, Sin Cara, Stardust, and Zack Ryder at the event. This match will be the first time that Miz is on the main portion of a Wrestlemania card since he was a part of the inaugural Andre The Giant Memorial Battle Royal at Wrestlemania 30.

While a lot of fans are not fond of Miz, he is a decorated 10-year veteran with several accolades under his belt. In a recent interview with 97.9/105.5 KISS FM’s KISS KREW promoting Wrestlemania 32, AJ Styles had high praise for Miz. In a recent match, Styles accidentally knocked one of Miz’s teeth out, causing some people to believe the “Phenomenal One” developed backstage heat because of it.

However, Styles revealed that he was actually “applauded” for the incident. He also praised Miz for the toughness he showed to finish that match.

“You would have thought that, but I think I got applauded, actually, for knocking out The Miz’s tooth. Let me tell you something, Miz is one of the toughest cats I’ve ever been in the ring with. He may not come across that way, but he is. He’s one tough dude and you’ve got to respect a guy for hanging in there after getting his tooth knocked out.”

While Miz is no longer the same performer that main-evented Wrestlemania 27 against John Cena for the WWE championship, he is still a respected veteran who serves a purpose on the main roster.

Below is an updated list of all the performers in the WWE system who will miss Wrestlemania 32 due to injury.

  • Cesaro (Shoulder)
  • John Cena (Shoulder)
  • Hideo Itami (Shoulder)
  • Neville (Ankle)
  • Nikki Bella (Neck)
