WWE News: Roman Reigns Says, ‘There Is No One Answer Why Someone Should Want To Boo Me’

Other than John Cena in the late-2000’s, nobody has been more controversial in the WWE than Roman Reigns. It wasn’t even supposed to come to this, because of how over he was during his time with the Shield. As a face team and a heel team, Reigns was beloved by the WWE Universe. He was the silent assassin who didn’t take any grief from anyone. Dean Ambrose and Seth Rollins were just as over, but for different reasons.

Reigns doesn’t have the wrestling skill of Rollins or Ambrose, but he has something they don’t, a natural look of a monster heel. The problem is, Vince McMahon doesn’t look at him like a bad guy. He wants Reigns to fist bump the children, smile and crack jokes on every episode of WWE television. Until two weeks ago, McMahon was set in his ways as to how to book Reigns. Clearly, his way was the polar opposite of how it was supposed to be done.

What happened at the Royal Rumble in January 2015 opened of the eyes of Reigns, as well as the entire WWE Universe. Philadelphia booed him, along with the Rock, right out of the building. Not even the Great One could help Reigns that evening. Since then, Reigns has felt like he’s been forced down the WWE fan’s throats. That’s the main reason why he gets booed. Apparently, the former-WWE champion doesn’t understand why.

In a recent interview with the Kingston Whig-Standard, Roman Reigns said that he didn’t understand why WWE fans boo him.

“It’s a tough one because there is no one answer. There is no one reason why someone would want to boo me. Maybe they don’t like what I wear, how I sound, maybe I did something to offend them, but for me, it’s hard because I’m under the microscope and I’m dealing with a lot of different things and there’s a lot of things flying my way,” Reigns answered.

“For me, I can only continue to stay within myself and worry about the things I can control and the things I can control are, Am I healthy?; Am I showing up to where I need to be on time?; Am I here to perform and do my job? If I do that, then our fans, they can cheer me, they can boo me, as long as we all show up to the arena, everything will be fine. We’ll be able to create that awesome experience, create that energy.”

“As for the reasons why these things happen, I don’t know. I do know I have a lot of supporters. These people have my back. There’s nothing that anybody can say negatively to me that will make me believe you are correct. It’s just your opinions,” he added.

For starters, Reigns cannot truly fathom why people would want to boo him. As a person, Reigns is a good guy who always takes time to talk to the fans and he deserves respect. Although, the WWE superstar is the product of poor booking and underwhelming writing. It’s mostly the Creative team’s fault for how they booked him.

Even still, Reigns is going to main event WrestleMania for the second year in a row, and probably win the WWE World Heavyweight championship. While he does that, the crowd at AT&T Stadium will boo him out of the building. It won’t be Reigns’ fault, as he doesn’t decide what happens and what doesn’t. The point is, it’s not the right decision. for him to main event WrestleMania.

It’s also not the right decision for him to fight for the WWE championship on Sunday.
