Pamela Laverne Long ‘Person of Interest’ in Florida Murder Investigation UPDATE

Update: Escambia County Sheriff, David Morgan, has confirmed that Pamela Laverne Long has been found in Orange Beach, Alabama, and is currently returning to Escambia County, Florida for questioning.

Pamela Laverne Long, a real-estate agent is wanted for questioning by police in connection with a multiple murder investigation, saying Long is a “person of interest” in the case.

Long was the landlord of Leonard Gonzalez Jr., a person authorities say gave ‘pivotal’ information in the double murder of Byrd and Melanie Billings. Escambia County Sheriff David Morgan said in a press conference Wednesday afternoon that it is not believed Pamela Laverne Long was at the scene when the murders happened.

Byrd and Melanie Billings were shot and killed on July 9 in what police are saying was a highly organized military style hit where robbery was the primary motive. One of the things taken from the home was a safe containing valuables.

The Associated Press reported.

“Two of the seven suspects, 35-year-old Leonard Gonzalez Jr., and 28-year-old Donnie Ray Stallworth, had military training, police say. Stallworth worked in the Air Force’s elite Special Operations Command with an aircraft maintenance squadron and Gonzalez was a former soldier in the National Guard.”
