David Beckham Sews Doll Clothes For His Daughter And Wins The Internet

David Beckham has gone from soccer MVP to Dad of the Year after his wife, Victoria Beckham, shared a picture of the legendary footballer hand sewing clothes for their daughter, Harper’s, doll collection on Instagram late Friday. According to E!, Victoria Beckham was so enamored with the sweet and crafty moment featuring her handsome husband David, she couldn’t resist capturing it for others to enjoy.

Victoria and David have three sons Brooklyn, 17, Romeo, 13, Cruz, 11, and daddy’s little princess, Harper, is 4. Both David and Victoria are well known in the fashion industry, he as a model, and she as a designer, so Beckham’s skills with the needle and thread probably didn’t come as a shock to fans, especially considering how verbal David has been about his adoration for his only daughter.

Just a few weeks ago, David shared a picture of his own on Instagram of tiny Harper on her tip toes brushing her teeth while wearing a Beckham jersey with the caption that ended with the question, “does that get any cuter?”

While there has been much talk about how fashionable all of the Beckham kids are with their high-end, name brand clothes, and frequent visits to fashion events, Harper wearing a jersey bearing the mutual Beckham name was undoubtedly a double source of pride for David.

David Beckham became and international soccer sensation in the mid-90s. Beckham’s ability to curve the ball on corner kicks and score became something of a phenomenon that other players often tried to replicate. David played for a variety of European teams including Manchester United and Real Madrid, as well as for the American MLS team the Los Angeles Galaxy. Beckham, a midfielder, scored a career total of 129 goals over the course of his nearly 20-year career.

Though David may not be considered the greatest football player of all time, Beckham certainly was one of the more marketable ones. David’s good looks and toned body became associated with multiple brands including Adidas, Pepsi, Diet Coke, and most famously Calvin Klein underwear. Beckham is considered the most recognizable international athlete and his hundreds of millions of dollars in endorsement deals certainly give credibility to that claim. Both David and Victoria Beckham even have their own fragrance lines.

In 2013, Beckham retired from football to focus on his family. While David and Victoria’s sons were quite a bit older, Harper was merely a toddler. That combined with the fact that David was no longer on the road for games and Harper was the youngest and only girl was a recipe for Daddy Beckham to be wrapped around her finger.

According to GQ, Beckham admitted that he has seen the Disney movie Frozen at least 50 to 60 times thanks to his little girl. And in an interview with Entertainment Tonight last fall, Beckham admitted Harper’s charms wield him powerless.

“I have no power with that little girl. No power whatsoever,” Beckham stated. “I love all my children, of course, equally but I’m definitely stricter with the boys than I am Harper.”

Beckham admitted that his soft heart for his daughter sometimes becomes an issue with the other woman in his life — his wife, Victoria. But quite often, Victoria shares photos of David doing dad things on her social media and it seems that the she is just as enamored with David’s parenting (and sewing) skills as the rest of the world.
