Chrissy Teigen Baby Shower: Kim Kardashian Throws Lavish Party For BFF
Chrissy Teigen and husband John Legend are expecting their first child next month, and on Saturday, Teigen’s best friend Kim Kardashian hosted a baby shower at her house. According to Us Weekly, Chrissy was joined by pals Jenna Dewan-Tatum, Minka Kelly, Stacy Keibler, Erin Andrews, Khloe Kardashian, and Kourtney Kardashian.
The theme for Chrissy’s party was high/low as lavish and expensive decorations were coupled with cheap fast food such as McDonald’s, Taco Bell, and chips and nacho cheese dip. Teigen and her guests played a nursery rhyme-themed game and Khloe Kardashian made a speech. A dance party also broke out and Legend arrived towards the end of the party.
Chrissy Teigen took to Instagram to post a note that her niece Makenzie left her. The caption read, “‘I hope you have the best time without me’ – my niece Makenzie writing me passive aggressive letters!”
Chrissy’s party was held outside by Kardashian’s pool and the colors were pink and white. A number of pink and white flowers lined a long table where Teigen and her guests congregated.
After struggling with getting pregnant, Chrissy and John decided on in vitro fertilization which allowed them to pick the baby’s gender. The couple are expecting a baby girl next month, but Teigen has received backlash about the process.
“I’ve made this decision. Not only am I having a girl, but I picked the girl from her little embryo. I picked her and was like, ‘Let’s put in the girl,'” Chrissy revealed to People magazine.
In responding to the critics, Chrissy Teigen joked, “I also picked the embryo with a taste for bacon, a knack for magic and size 7 feet so she can always find shoes”.
Teigen also revealed that she’s asked President Barack Obama for baby name advice.
“I asked Barack – we’re like very first name basis.
“I asked President Obama if he liked one of our name choices and he said he did.
“I thought afterwards, I should have came up with two so he could pick one, because if you think about it, you’ve got to be nice about it if you give someone a name.”
This is the second baby shower for Teigen as she and Legend celebrated their first earlier this month in Manhattan, NY. Prior to her first shower, Chrissy revealed that she and Legend feel like they’re prepared for their little bundle of joy.
“We’re pretty mellow with it,” Chrissy Teigen told Us Weekly. “I’m pretty anxious normally with most things in life [and work], but with this, we’re very calm and we feel very ready, despite having not really done anything… I think for the most part, we’re very lucky to have my mom and his mom with us during the summer, so we’ll learn as we go, just like with anything else.”
Later in the evening, Teigen took to Twitter to thank her friends and proclaim how lucky her little baby is.
