‘Love & Hip Hop Atlanta’ Season 5: Tammy Rivera Deals With Side Chick Drama — Karlie Redd Feuds With Joseline Hernandez, Finally Engaged?

Love & Hip Hop:Atlanta is about to start Season 5 and in the weeks before the VH1 hit starts, drama is already popping up among many of the cast members. A new trailer was recently released and fans got to see a few of their favorite returning cast members as well as some newcomers who are sure to shake things up a bit. One thing is for sure, Season 5 of LHHATL will be just as ratchet and explosive as it has in the past.

The new LHHATL trailer posted by VH1 starts off with Karlie Redd and her millionth boyfriend since starting on the show. Karlie is sitting with Lyfe Jennings on a park bench when he pulls out a huge diamond engagement ring. Right on cue, Karlie falls off the park bench and it’s hard to tell if she’s playing or if the shock of the moment really did cause her to pass out.

Spoiler alert, Lyfe Jennings never did marry Karlie Redd. Instead, Jennings dumped Karlie and has since married his new girlfriend Gwendolyn. It seems that Karlie is still looking for that one to hold her down after trying out Benzino, Yung Joc, and now Lyfe Jennings in her time on LHHATL.

K. Michelle is also featured in the clip and will be back in Atlanta for Season 5. She recently wrapped up Season 2 of her own show K. Michelle: My Life and even spent a season on Love & Hip Hop: New York. K. Michelle is coming back to Atlanta to a semi-warm reception from fans. One person who is definitely happy to see her is Joseline Hernandez, who also just wrapped up the first season of her own spinoff.

Tammy Rivera is also coming back after taking a season off. It looks like she’ll be dealing with some of the side chick rumors that have been plaguing her relationship with Waka Flocka. He may not be back on LHHATL though, and if he does make appearances, we’re betting they will be few and far between. Tammy is spending time with some of the women this season instead, and it’s to Tammy that D. Brown admits she is transitioning from male to female.

As if to prove there will be plenty of drama, the last scene in the trailer shows a group of women getting into an argument and naturally, drinks fly. The final scene shows another newcomer, D. Brown’s friend Betty Idol, sitting in a car after the fight and she’s really upset because someone pulled out her hair. That just shows that Mona Scott-Young can switch out the players, but the drama is just about the same.

In addition to D.Smith and Betty Idol, newcomers include Karen “KK” King and her sons Scrapp DeLeon and Sass, Sass’ girlfriend Tommie, and his ex Tiara. The addition of KK, Scrapp, and Sass to the cast came with controversy. The mom and her two sons were accused of trying to kill King’s ex-husband, who also happens to be the father of Scrapp and Sass, in 2012. All three were let go when the district attorney couldn’t gather enough evidence against them. That’s not KK and her son’s only claim to fame, though. They are actually joining the show because Karen King used to be a pretty successful manager to both of her sons’ careers.

Also showing up for Season 5 of LHHATL but not shown in the clip are Rasheeda and Kirk Frost, Momma Dee and her son Scrappy, as well as his recent ex-girlfriend Adiz “Bambi” Benson. Mimi Faust and Stevie J will be back for another season of drama too.

Love & Hip Hop Atlanta returns April 4 at 8/7c on VH1.
