Fans who watch Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice this weekend will want to know if it’s worth sticking around to the end to see if there’s an after-credits scene with spoilers about what comes ahead in the series, as most superhero movies have taken to doing.
Many fans have come to expect the revealing after-credits scene, and many movies have used it as a way to introduce major plot points in coming installments of their superhero series. That was the case with Deadpool, which used an after-credits scene to reveal that Cable will be featured in the next movie.

Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice seems to be bucking that trend — at least in part. While there is no end credit scene in the movie, there are still some major spoilers hidden at the end of the movie that only sharp-eyed viewers may catch. Critics have noted that this movie appears to be setting the table for the upcoming Justice League movie (more details on this, including some YouTube breakdowns of the Easter Eggs, can be found below).
But it’s not necessary to stick around to the bitter end to see them. As The Independent reported, director Zack Snyder may be trying to set this movie apart by keeping all of the content before the credits.
“According to early (positive) feedback from audience members who have seen previews, the superhero mashup bucks the trend of other superhero films by attaching no extra scene onto the credits.
“Perhaps this is Zack Snyder’s way of further separating DC films from the Marvel Cinematic Universe that is known to add such scenes at the end of their films, using the opportunity to introduce new characters or tease future plot lines.”
Here is a breakdown of some of the Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice spoilers from Emergency Awesome. The discussion of the film’s Easter Eggs starts at about the four-minute mark, following some interviews and extended clips from the movie.
One of the major spoilers comes after the death of Superman, who sacrifices himself in order to kill Doomsday. At his funeral, there appears to be a lead-in for Justice League Part 1, Attack of the Fanboy noted.
“The other teaser we got at the end of Batman vs Superman is the conversation that Wonder Woman and Batman had at Superman’s funeral. Both of them know that other metahumans exist in the world as Cyborg, Aquaman, and The Flash were seen in the movie via security camera footage. After Doomsday’s death, Batman feels he needs to assemble a team to combat future threats.
“This leads to the ominous conversation that Batman has with Lex Luthor who is now in prison. Luthor teases that another big bad guy is coming. He didn’t say who it is yet, but it’s more than likely that he’s referring to Darkseid.”
And while there may not be an after-credits scene in Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice, the final scene itself contains possibly the biggest spoiler. In it, the film teases that Superman is quite possibly still alive — and it’s very likely that he is. The upcoming Justice League Part 1, slated for release in 2017, is rumored to feature Superman along with Batman, Wonder Woman, The Flash, Cyborg, Aquaman, and Green Lantern.
