Khloe Kardashian Opens Up About IVF, Admits She Considered Having A Baby To Save Lamar Odom Marriage

Khloe Kardashian nearly welcomed her first child with Lamar Odom — and for all the wrong reasons. During an episode of her FYI talk show, Kocktails With Khloe, on Wednesday, March 23, the reality star opened up about trying in vitro fertilization in an effort to save her mariage.

At the age of 27, as she was married to the former NBA star, Khloe Kardashian underwent IVF treatments, but they didn’t end up working.

“I do want to have a baby. I’ve tried IVF and all that,” Khloe Kardashian said, according to a report by the New York Daily News, when asked about her family plans.

Khloe Kardashian tied the knot with Odom in September 2009, just 30 days after they met at a party in Los Angeles thrown by Odom’s former teammate and friend, Ron Artest, aka Metta World Peace. Then, in mid-2013, their marriage was plagued with reports of infidelity and drug use, and in December of that year, Khloe Kardashian filed for divorce.

Since splitting from Odom, Khloe Kardashian has dated a number of men, including James Harden and French Montana, but currently, she’s single, and without a man, she’s not planning to make any more moves towards a possible pregnancy. While she may not be against the idea of welcoming a child by herself later on in life, if she hasn’t yet settled down, she is currently awaiting the full package.

“Right now in my life, I don’t want to just have a baby. I still want to have like my family… but at the time I was, like, ugh, gotta have a baby,” she explained. “That’s all I wanted at that time.”

Even though Khloe Kardashian’s marriage to Odom was far from perfect, she wanted a child, but luckily, her older self has since taken on a more mature outlook on her plans for a family.

“I thought maybe it would like fix the situation,” she admitted. “I’m also happy it didn’t happen because I was young. I was 27 and I thought ‘oh my god a baby will fix this.’ (But) It’s not going to fix that.”

Also during the latest episode of her talk show, Khloe Kardashian revealed how her older sister, Kourtney, got her out of the funk she was in after her father, Robert Kardashian, Sr., tragically passed away after a battle with cancer.

“She said, ‘We’re going to open a women’s clothing store, and you’re going to run it,’ because I just needed structure,” Khloe Kardashian told her guests, including Dr. Terry and Heather Dubrow. “I needed something to do every day.”

Following the attorney’s death, Khloe Kardashian embarked on a wild lifestyle, which she claimed involved partying and spending time with friends “whose lives revolved around drugs.”

The women’s clothing store Kourtney opened became known as DASH, and nearly got in the way of their family’s hit reality series, Keeping Up With the Kardashians. Because Khloe Kardashian was so dedicated to the store, she nearly passed on taking part in the series.

“Kim and my mom really wanted to do the TV show, and Kourtney and I were like, ‘All we wanted to do was the kids store and Dash,'” Khloe Kardashian explained.
